President Trump has completed the interview process for Supreme Court candidates after speaking with six judges, a source with knowledge of the selection process told Fox News with three finalists in particular leading the field.
The president and his vetting team have moved quickly ahead of an expected announcement on Monday.
While liberal advocacy groups and others are gearing up for a major confirmation fight, Trump is charging ahead with an imminent decision to fill the seat of retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy, and potentially move the court more solidly to the right.
Fox News is told that Trump has interviewed six candidates: Appeals court judges Brett Kavanaugh, Raymond Kethledge, Amy Coney Barrett, Amul Thapar, Joan Larsen and Thomas Hardiman. The interviews comprised seven conversations Trump talked to one candidate twice.
Multiple sources indicated Kavanaugh, Kethledge and Barrett are currently the focus of attention.

It seems like each one of the 6 have good points. I will tell you this. Trump has a keen ability to size someone up, pretty fast. It may come down to the interview with him, more than anything.
Also, these judges have been vetted. No other president on our side did this. They took some political appointee based on who knows what?
Any of these finalists will be no worse than Kennedy, and may in fact be better.
“Trump has a keen ability to size someone up, pretty fast. “
I guess he missed with Sessions..
Wasn’t the short list correct the last time around? It was Gorsuch, Hardiman, and one other.
It’s going to be Barrett.
I am somewhat reserved about the choice. She has written no Second Amendment opinions, which concerns me. Everything else she has written looks good though, so she’s probably OK.
Kavanaugh wrote a pro-Obamacare opinion, so I’d prefer it not be him.
I don’t think 7 kids in the house is virtue signaling. It’s a hard job.
I’m a bit apprehensive about Kethledge who clerked for Kennedy. Clerks usually write the opinions and Kennedy’s opi ions supported Roe v Wade and same sex marriage.
Yep, she has no case history and her writings as a prof are theoretical stuff.
But, she has no specific record on Roe v. Wade.
And, Trump knows he has to give cover to Sen. Collins.
I agree.
Amy’s 7 kids just screams ‘Look at me, I’m a saint’. No thanks.
You know there is a lot of truth in what you say and I' a girl - but I was the oldest of 3 girls in my family and I had a lot of responsibility - including protecting them - but my two younger sisters are wayyy left of me to the point we can't talk politics.
How much of a mother do you think she can be to seven kids while working as a high-level federal judge?
She reeks of leftist-in-conservative-clothing.
Hmmm. New information . . . thanks.
Was Kethledge there when Kennedy wrote about Roe v. Wade?
that’s such a ridiculously easy call to make I’m surprised that so few have made it so far
but you’re totally right, she will ovary-lock with the other three and go hard left in no time
I doubt she knew she was ever going to be nominated to be an appeals judge.
She has pulled off a tough thing, but we don’t know her husband.
After college, all my College educated nieces, except one, turned Hard-Core Leftist. My Neice that just retired from the Air Force is Hard-Core Right.
She has spoken several times about Roe being wrongly decided. In fact, she has spoken more about Roe than most nominees have.
She also said that Obamacare was wrongly decided by Roberts.
She was a clerk to Scalia and is an originalist. I do not think she will go wobbly.
But, don’t you know they are going to go all “me too movement” all over ANY male candidate?
They will probably have Stormy Daniels claim that one, too.
