The Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed a plea deal Tuesday to Imran Awan former IT staffer for top House Democrats which states the federal government found no evidence that Awan violated federal law with respect to House computer systems. The plea deal states:
The Government has uncovered no evidence that your client violated federal law with respect to the House computer systems. Particularly, the Government has found no evidence that your client illegally removed House data from the House network or from House Members offices, stole the House Democratic Caucus Server, stole or destroyed House information technology equipment, or improperly accessed or transferred government information, including classified or sensitive information.
The DOJs offer allows Awan to plead guilty to making a false statement on a loan or credit application; a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 1014. Although the crime carries a maximum sentence of 30 years imprisonment and a fine possibly exceeding $1,000,000 with restitution and interest penalties, the DOJ estimates a prison sentence of between zero and six months and a fine between $500 and $9,500 in the event of Awans acceptance of its terms.
The offer includes dismissal of all charges against Awans wife, Hina Alvi, listed in an August-issued indictment. It expires at the end of the day.
Awan, a Pakistani national, managed IT services for more than 20 congressional Democrats, including former DNC chairwoman Wasserman-Schultz (D-FL) over several years.

Chris Gowen, Awans attorney, said last July that ultra-right-wing-media had victimized his client with an anti-Muslim, right-wing smear job.

Trust Sessions!......to do absolutely nothing.
There seems to have been a deal made in order to get the person to squeal on a more important person such as Obama!
He has the goods on everyone and they need to be kept under wraps with a garbage plea deal and a show-sentence for the masses.
Awan encrypted the laptop with a note saying "call me if you want to unlock it".
So the switched out serial number was done by the server which absconded with itself?
Hope the plea deal includes testimony against the head of the scheme, Xavier Becerra.
They accessed the information of congressmen whom they did not work for- I’d like to now who those other congressmen are.... were they all Democrats?
I predicted this on another thread. He “plead guilty” so he didn’t have to be charged with a crime and reveal all the evidence and knowledge he had. Sessions didn’t want him to rat out the democrats.
I don’t get it either.
That really seals it. Sessions is in the tank.
Not the kind of plea deal which would compel further cooperation.
I sure hope this Awan guy is giving a lot of useful info to the DOJ in this deal.
Even Awan is getting off easy. And people think Hillary and others are in trouble?
Plea deals are give and take... a soft deal is usually contingent on complete cooperation while the case proceeds against others, and failure to comply kills the deal and reinstates the original charges.
And then there’s cases like Bill Ayers... guilty as hell, free as a bird... :-(

Caught giving cops a fake server, Xavier Becerra clams up
By Monica Showalter
California’s illegal alien-supporting attorney general, Xavier Becerra, has been curiously silent about that fake server he handed over to cops to obstruct their Imran Awan investigation, according to a new report from the Daily Caller. The broader scandal was outlined in this piece by Thomas Lifson yesterday.
Clearly a firing offense for Sessions...He’d be better off homeless on the streets of S.F...Then, at least, instead of always defecating on the American people he’d be defecating on streets where it is normal behaviour...
There are other far more important fish being fried.
There is nothing to be done that will harm the main cases.
This can wait
This can wait
according to the plea deal awan is off the hook for anything not including violence so the wait is over for him...
