Congratulations to Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on becoming the next President of Mexico. I look very much forward to working with him. There is much to be done that will benefit both the United States and Mexico!
It would be healthy for the new president to secretly agree to work with trump behind closed doors while pumping up the rhetoric to keep him alive and in power. There is no other way for him

Trump is just congratulating him, but I think he knows this guy is a loud mouthed leftists and eventually will over step. Watch the American left fawn over him. That’s okay. It will expose all the seditious nut jobs in this country for all to see.

When you are POTUS you are the nation’s top diplomat.
He pretty much has to congratulate foreign leaders and try to work with them. Even the ones we find distasteful.
I think it means Democrats will see it as a YUGE opportunity to import even more illegal voters. The CoC Republicans won't try to stop them, either.
