“That gives Ginsburg, Kagan, Sotomayor time to tender their resignations as well.”
Or preferably croak. Breyer too.
Good. A little time for some last-minute research and deliberation, then on to the Senate as quickly as possible.
“will scale back reproductive rights”
This shouldn’t be the business of the Court, of course. Congress could create equivalent laws to satisfy the desires of their electorate. Or, the Constitution could be amended.
But abortion advocates worry, with cause, that the people don’t recognize the same “reproductive rights” that they do. So they want to impose their values on us by fiat.
Mark Levin hates Trump. Why would Trump nominate Lee, also a Trump hater, just to get flack from Lee??
My Gal would be another excellent pick. She got a lot done on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, much to the chagrin of the local Socialist Democrat Party! :)
Diane Sykes of Wisconsin, U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
A former justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Sykes was part of a legal movement that helped set in motion a conservative transformation of the judiciary in her home state.
Sykes was confirmed to the 7th Circuit in 2004 and was reportedly on Bushs Supreme Court short list if a vacancy emerged in the last couple of years of his second term. On the appeals court, she issued a decision compelling a state-run university to recognize a Christian legal group as an official school organization even though the group banned leaders engaged in homosexuality or “fornication.”
Sykes also voted to reinstate Wisconsins voter ID law just eight weeks before the 2014 general election. The Supreme Court reversed that decision by a 6-3 vote, but the justices allowed the law to take effect once that election was complete.

No No and No
Just No
LOL....very true.
Go POTUS!! Keep up your blessed pace!
Like night follows day the Democrats trot out their abortion shibboleth every time. They will also do everything in their power to fabricate stuff showing the nominee is a racist. So predictable.
They are going to Weekend at Bernie the old bat until the end of time!

The president’s list of candidates for the Supreme Court is outstanding. That said, I would strongly encourage him to select Sen. Mike Lee. There’s no doubt at all that he’d be absolutely faithful to the Constitution. And this is a life-time appointment, after all.

And, NO....NEVER....not EVER!!!!
Cannot seem to find out how Amy Barrett feels re:Second Amendment. I assume the Trump Admin. has vetted her? I would certainly hope so. Otherwise she seems like a good pick!

A guy that openly hates Trump promotes a guy who hates Trump to be on the Supreme Court?????
Put down the bong, dude.
We the people are obligated to have a supreme that adheres to the ‘original intent’ of our Constitution. Not one that holds precedent as the rule of law.
My two cents: During a second Trump term with a Republican Senate.
This is where the rubber meets the road.
We cannot give any ground on this one.
She’s there with others that are like-minded. She’s been honing her constitutional principles for years. It would be more paintful for her to disavow her past than to succumb to the Today show. She’ll be strong. I think she’s the one.
But Lee would be good, also, but the point about the Senate would be well taken.
The only problem with Diane Sykes is that she is 60. Trump is going to want to pick someone 10 years younger. Ten years makes a big difference. That is over two more Presidential terms that a Justice could serve on the Court.
Preach it!
I hope your sources are still interested in
Joan Larsen, 48
Justice, Michigan Supreme Court
Larsen is the youngest of any of the reported Trump short listers, offering conservatives the possibility of installing a justice who could serve for three decades. Larsen clerked for Scalia.
It would help him in this pivotal state to appoint her.
