Breaking news
Apparently he told Scalia that when we had a republican President and majority Senate, he wanted to retire.
Cancel summer recess. President Trump needs to nominate somebody in July. Arrange hearings in the Senate in August. Get a vote in September.
Good point! Joe Manchin's vote would be a possibility.
Laura Ingraham.
No matter whom is nominated, the fight will be extremely ugly. The Dems will claim he or she beat their dog when they were ten years old, bullied classmates in kindergarten, and may even have kissed a person of the opposite sex.
Nominate me! I’m not a judge though. Or a lawyer and pretty much a nobody. Doubt I’d qualify.
Hang on to your hats! This one is for all the marbles! MAGA!!
This is good. But with this resignation, RBG will probably decide to hang on and sleep through a couple more years.
She thought Hillary was going to win.
Sen. Grassley has been drum-beating for that already, just for regular judicial nominees. There has already been some indication that McConnell might be willing.
He (kennedy) votes with the right about 3:1, including the big cases this week in all of them. This will motivate the right to go vote for Senate candidates in red states for Rs even if they like their D (manchin, etc).
Hasn’t the recess already been cancelled?
This is good. But with this resignation, RBG will probably decide to hang on and sleep through a couple more years.

The woman’s 85. The odds are increasing every day that even if she wants to stay nature is going to say she can’t.
Thomas will be the next to retire. He has voiced a desire to get out for family reasons
RBG will not voluntiarly retire save her failing health which isnt as dire as conventional wisdom would have you bekieve
The great worry is Trump caves and nominates a less than pure bread constitutionalist to get him/her confirmed
Recall Bush 43 punted on nominating Scalia as Chief Justice, which he should have done, naming Roberts to the spot to avoid two confirmations. I was livid he slighted Scalia. The ACA might have suffered its deserved fate had Scalia been CJ
Woo hooo!
One pervert, anti-family justice down, two to go...
I will give him credit for going out in the camp of rationality and the rule of Law, as written...
