Progressive millennial candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez beat New York Democratic incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley, a top ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives, in a primary Tuesday night.
The Associated Press called the race at 9:52 with Ocasio-Cortez leading by 15 percentage points with more than 85% percent of precincts reporting.

Exactly. I welcome this. Their party keeps moving into oblivion. Complete minority status.
It’s good in the sense that they’re finally being honest about what they are. Voters between the coasts, many of whom grew up in Democrat households, still hold a distorted, nostalgic view of what their party is. It is now a hardened, transnational Marxist party, and this is something they need to see in neon colors.
The higher these Ocasio-Cortez’s fly their freak flags, the smaller their party becomes.
Who is she? Where was she born? Is she a US citizen? Her parents? I just searched through more than half a dozen articles and absolutely none touch these questions. Silence.
Isn’t there some sort of law that admitted communists can’t run for federal offices? (not that we mind Crowley being unseated)

There is a Republican running, Anthony Pappus. He ran unopposed in the GOP primary.
If it’s true that Crowley is still on the ballot as a minor party candidate, this could get interesting if he and the socialist who beat him split the Dem vote.

I agree. It’s fascinating how fast the Dems are moving leftward as a party. Trump has them so angry that he’s actually flushing them out as the socialists/communists they’ve always been, but never openly admitted.
And a lot of Independents (and traditional Democrats) are going to have trouble going that far leftward.

People need to be clear and consistent that she is a SOCIALIST, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. Even Obama, while getting their endorsement if I recall correctly, he was never a member. Is this the party of the Democrats? Mad Maxine and avowed Socialists and senile Pelosi? Wow.

I know many democRAT voters (extended family members, mostly) here in Connecticut who still think the 'RAT party is that old nostalgic party of their parents' generation -- meaning: from FDR to Jimmy Carter. They just don't see their party for what it truly is now. It's stunning to witness.

A lot of white Democratic politicians are going to start losing their positions as minorities clamor for their own positions. Crowley’s district is now almost 50% Hispanic.

My feelings for Crowley go back long before his political career. I’m much older than him, but knew him and his crowd.....worthless.
He’s on the Working Families Party and the Women’s Equality Party lines, so he’s on the November ballot.
