10-term Democratic Rep. Joe Crowley of New York loses to Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Crowley was thought to be the next Democratic leader of the House.
Ethnicity
18.41% White
11.39% Black
16.24% Asian
49.80% Hispanic
0.45% Native American
3.71% other
Minorities want members of their own tribe to represent them. The thin veneer of white liberals in growing minority districts will be destroyed. And even Maxine Waters district is two-thirds Hispanic. Rangel lost because of the changes in his district.
Remember what happened to Stephen Solarz? Velázquez ran for Congress in the 1992 election, seeking a seat in the New York's newly-drawn 12th congressional district, which was drawn as a majority-Hispanic district. Velázquez won the Democratic primary, defeating nine-term incumbent Stephen J. Solarz and four Hispanic candidates.
Ha Ha Ha! The Hillary Schumer Pelosi party gasps its last breath!
Thanks for the education.

Im surprised FReepers are seeing this as a bad thing! Clarity between parties is good for constitutional freedom! The corporate traditional Dems and Reps are full of poop. They have zero differences really. They are all bought and clinging to power and money.
We need stark political discussions. If its between the constitution and Venezuelan socialism its a good discussion, believe me.
White liberals will have a hard time holding on to districts that are becoming increasingly Hispanic. They will pay the price of the changing demographics of the country, especially urban areas.
Thanks!
I should have said “mirror image” instead of ‘analogy’ LOL!
Looking forward to media explicating the comparison.
Another constituency of pedophiles and their supporters, enemy islamists and their facilitators, and outright communists.
The democrat party.
Give me that old time religion,
Give me that old time religion...
If it was good enough for Lenin,
It’s good enough for me...

Lefties never learn.
Establishment Communist defeated by Stalinist outsider in NY.
Just rename them the Socialist Party of America.
I see your point. I’m sure NO media will discuss it!
I think my “mirror image” of Brat/Cantor point is valid though, and more fruitful
Dems nust have gotten used to the fact that their identity politics replaces “White” liberals with minorities.
There’s no way CNN.com is co-located with their tv news division. They actually provide some decent insight.
I actually worked on defeating Cantor in the Brat race. There is no comparison between the two. Demography is destiny and the white liberals will soon see what happens when their districts become majority minority.
I appreciate your experience.
Nonetheless, immigration was a big part of both races, and in an obviously comparable way.
I assume it is my misuse of “analogy” in my first post that causes your offence.
“Oscar-whatever” is a progrssive defeating an establishment figure as a conservative did. Mostly on immigratio, but also on “anti-establishmentism”- from the Leftist side as Brat did from the conservative side.
And reapportionment played no role.
And I REALLY appreciate your work against Cantor. What a great joy it was to see him defeated.
it doesn’t matter. void/blank ballots get more votes in that CD than the republican.
she’s as good as elected. basically, a new MSNBC star was born tonight.
how did you work on the bratt win? just curious. I noticed you’re in SC.
The “Blue Wave” just became a puddle.
>>So I cant find any information that a Republican will be running against this socialist. Is that true? No republican opponent at all? 14th district.<<
The GOP candidate ran unopposed. Anthony Pappas
If Crowley is on a couple of minor party tickets, maybe they’ll split the Dem vote and give Pappas a chance? A lot of traditional Dems have got to be wondering about the direction the Dem leadership has been taking lately. And Independents even more so.
Just you know, she is a babe despite her politics.
We dont need no steenken ol white men!
