Rep. Steve King posted a warning on Twitter Sunday evening that the U.S. is heading toward a second civil war, comparing the present day actions of the anti-Trump resistance to the run-up to the Civil War.
King, an eight-term Congressman from Iowa, keyed off a PJ Media article about leftist protesters shutting down a Portland, Oregon ICE office and taking down the U.S. flag, replacing with an “Refugees Welcome” flag.
“America is heading in the direction of another Harpers Ferry. After that comes Ft. Sumter.”

I have seen a possible conflict that could be called a civil war coming for a long time. This was long before Donald Trump was even running for President. The left has been pushing the right p for several years to gain an advantage. The majority of the right honor the rule of law. They are tolerant when the other side is in power, that is how the system works. However the left for the most part cannot tolerate the other side winning an election and then taking power. The left will go out of their way to contest such an election. The left misconstrues the right’s patient for complacency. They make a miscalculation that will result in violence. The leaders of the left have no understanding of the opposite side and do not care to have any. Events will come to a head and a explosion will happen. Things will get out of hand and war will come. How it ends up is unknown. But a new paradigm will emerge. Some of us will be involved and most of us will give support to one side or the other and keep out of the active conflict. May God help us until the civil war is over.

I think if there’s an economic collapse or something close to it, then this scenario may happen. Otherwise, we are too prosperous to even risk anything. At most, we may see minor skirmishes such as Charlottesville but it won’t escalate beyond that.
