Charles Krauthammer, a longtime Fox News contributor, Pulitzer Prize winner, Harvard-trained psychiatrist and best-selling author who came to be known as the dean of conservative commentators, has died. He was 68.
His death had been expected after he wrote a heartbreaking letter to colleagues, friends and viewers on June 8 that said in part I have been uncharacteristically silent these past ten months. I had thought that silence would soon be coming to an end, but Im afraid I must tell you now that fate has decided on a different course for me
Recent tests have revealed that the cancer has returned. There was no sign of it as recently as a month ago, which means it is aggressive and spreading rapidly. My doctors tell me their best estimate is that I have only a few weeks left to live. This is the final verdict. My fight is over.

Another passing that reinforces my own mortality. One of those guys who I always expected to be there, weighing in.
Back when I watched Fox News with my now ex-wife, he was our go to commentator, the final word.
Lots has changed for me since then, but his death brings me sadness with the nostalgia.
RIP to a great man who made a difference.
Rest in Peace, Charles. Prayers for his wife Robyn and son Daniel.
Amen.
Wow. Thanks for posting that.
Requiescat in pace
Very intelligent man, appreciated his analysis even when I didn’t agree.
Depends on what the criticism is,
If it was something the democrats could use in a campaign ad......
RIP Charles you will be greatly missed!

Were getting a little prejudice revelations coming from both ends heading towards each other on this austere memorial thread
God give him rest.
... yeah, and while you’re at it, give the rest of us a rest from the relentless pounding of this story on Fox News.
His parents were both Jewish, came to Canada during the war. He was raised Jewish, but found his own path later in life.
RIP. Prayers and condolences to friends and family.
Sad day, some days he made me mad as hell and some days I thought he was right on. I think that is the mark of a good objective journalist.
Anyone with a disability should be inspired by a man who never let his get in the way of his goals and achievements.
“...the catastrophe that awaits everyone from a single false move, wrong turn, fatal encounter. Every life has such a moment. What distinguishes us is whetherand howwe ever come back.
Well said.
An amazing beautiful soul. Prayers for his wife and son.
Tough to hear... that guy survived and overcame so much, only to get laid low by cancer.
No justice in the world, at all. Just sucks, completely.
RIP, Charles...
Sorry, I rarely watch Fox News.
When he said his time was short, he wasnt kidding around. He was a lot more honest than McCain in that way.
