A majority of voters blame the parents of the separated children at the southwestern border for the current immigration crisis, not the federal government, according to a new poll.
When families are arrested and separated after attempting to enter the United States illegally, 54 percent of likely U.S. voters say the parents are more to blame for breaking the law, says a Rasmussen Reports survey released Thursday.
Rasmussen found 35 percent believe the federal government is more to blame for enforcing the law, while 11 percent are not sure about the situation.
A closer look shows that 82 percent of Republicans and 56 percent of voters not affiliated with either major political party feel the parents are more to blame for breaking the law. But 60 percent of Democrats say the government is more to blame for enforcing the law, the poll said.
Among all voters, 49 percent say the administration is too aggressive in its efforts to stop illegal immigration, a view shared by 23 percent of Republicans, 46 percent of independents and 75 percent of Democrats.
Still, a quarter of all voters say those efforts are not aggressive enough, while 21 percent view the administrations policies as about right.

Fox News has been a major disappointment in reporting this situation. Today they misreported the number of unaccompanied children as 2,300, when that is the number that have been separated from parents. There are over 10,000 who are “unaccompanied” according to DHS Sec. Nielsen. This information came from her press conference on Tuesday, so they should have had the correct numbers.
Actually if you read the actual EO, it doesnt really change anything. President Trump played the leftscum.
I still say there was no need for him to do anything, the current system was already serving as a deterrent for people coming over.
absolutely this is on the adults, whoever they are.
The adults could have applied for asylum in Mexico.
If they were truly concerned about breaking up their families, they would’ve stayed home.
It’s 100% the parents responsibility to know where their children are at all times. How many parents take their children with them when they set out to break the law?
I’ve taken a break from Face Book over the crazy liberals regarding this.
Not just the members. FB too. They removed all my memes yesterday.
I have friends there and admin 2 pages or I would leave and never look back.
Americans are waking up!
He didn’t blink, he shifted the narrative.
Stop counting on FOX news to be objective.
I don’t know lol. It was at price when I went in the seventies is a kid. Good grief when I started following this board in 2000 I was 32 :-(
We need to stop processing asylum claims at the border, the left is just using that to jam up the system and allow more illegals to stay.
This is my thoughts on this that I have been posting on other threads:
There is a solution to the issue where the left organizes waves of illegals to storm the border and overwhelm the process, then uses the chaos to try to score political points.
We have consulates all over Mexico and elsewhere. We need to stop trying to process these people at the border. Once they reach the border the left has changed so many of our immigration laws it is hard to process them within the allowed time frame, forcing some to be released, that is why they come in waves- to overwhelm the system. We all know if we release them 80% will not show up for court hearings and melt into the already overwhelming number of illegals we already have here.
Stop doing that process at the border. Staff the consulates to process them, and do not allow anyone to cross the border that has not already completed the process and been granted asylum or other legal status to enter this country. The number floating around is that only a very small tiny percentage of those claiming asylum are actually granted it. Using asylum claims improperly is something the dims came up with to get large numbers of illegals in abusing our laws.
We need to hammer anyone with an R to make this happen. I see nothing that could be used as a hammer by the left in doing this. This would actually help the people actually qualified in that they would not have to make that long dangerous trip in order to apply for real asylum.
Knowing Mexico the way I do, I would bet a lot of money when the chaos of the fake asylum seekers is in their country instead of at our border they will shut their door to the waves of illegals coming up. Problem solved.
That is very encouraging.
Still, a quarter of all voters say those efforts are not aggressive enough, while 21 percent view the administrations policies as about right.
Well now, let's see. Where I come from 49% if a minority. A quarter of voters (25%) say administration is not aggressive enough and 21% say just about right. That's 46% administration is doing right or not enough. So where's the other 5%?
