U.S. President Donald Trump was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for his work in reaching an agreement to work toward de-nuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
The U.S leader was nominated by two members of Norway’s governing Progress Party, according to state broadcaster NRK. The deadline for this year’s prize passed in January, so this nomination would make him eligible for next year. It is unclear whether he was nominated for this year’s prize.
Nominations for the world’s most coveted prize are open to lawmakers, academics and researchers from around the world. The Nobel Committee in Oslo typically receives hundreds of nominations each year, and past candidates have also included Russian President Vladimir Putin and Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro. A record 330 people were nominated this year.
While the Norwegian Nobel committee is appointed by parliament, it’s decisions are independent. Trump was nominated by two right-wing members of Norway’s Progress Party, which advocates for limited immigration and lower taxes.

That was my thought a couple weeks ago, too.
While a nice gesture, to many liberal suicides would follow such an award as they would be forced to confront the reality that their lives have been lived in an illiterate bubble of misinformation.
The Nobel committee would rather give it to Assad than Trump.

Sure they can, it would serve to renew legitimacy to the award. Then for the next two decades all the extreme leftists to be given the award will appear to have mainstream consensus for their achievements.
President Trump should thumb his nose at them if nominated, or tell them he won't accept unless they first revoke the one given to Obama!
On 12 May 2008, Irena Sendlerowa (commonly known as Irena Sendler) passed away of pneumonia at the age of 98 in Warsaw. Her death prompted the circulation of an online message aimed at informing the many people who remained unfamiliar with her heroic deeds during the Holocaust:

During WWII, Iliana, got permission to work in the Warsaw Ghetto.
She had an ulterior motive…
She KNEW what the Nazi’s plans were for the Jews.
Iliana smuggled infants out in the bottom of her tool box she carried, and she carried in the back of her truck a Burlap sack, (for larger kids).
She also had a dog in the back, that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in, and out of the ghetto.
The soldiers of course wanted nothing to do with the dog, and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.
During her time and course of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants.
She was caught, and the Nazi’s broke both her legs, and arms, and beat her severely.
Iliana kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out, and kept them in a glass jar, buried under a tree in her back yard.
After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived it, and reunited the family.
Most of course had been gassed.
Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes, or adopted.
Last year Iliana was up for the Nobel Peace Prize….

And then there’s the story about Irena Sendler they don’t tell you about.
In 1968, Poland was expelling Jews, Irena Sendler basically threatened the Communist government that she would start hiding Jews again. The Communists never acknowledged what Sendler did during WWII.
