Charles Krauthammer, the beloved and brilliant Fox News Channel personality who gave up a pioneering career in psychiatry to become a Pulitzer Prize-winning political analyst, on Friday revealed the heartbreaking news that he is in the final stages of a losing battle with cancer.
The 68-year-olds incisive takes on politics of the day have been missing from Fox News Channels Special Report for nearly a year as he battled an abdominal tumor and subsequent complications, but colleagues and viewers alike had held out hope that he would return to the evening show he helped establish as must-viewing. But in an eloquent, yet unblinking letter to co-workers, friends and Fox News Channel viewers, Krauthammer disclosed that he has just weeks to live.
I have been uncharacteristically silent these past ten months, the letter began. I had thought that silence would soon be coming to an end, but Im afraid I must tell you now that fate has decided on a different course for me.

So sad, my. Dad had a stroke Easter 2017 and died June 12.
It has been a year. Damn you cancer.
Charles brought a coherent germane commentary that was easy to understand. I did not always agree but more than not. He has had a difficult life ,if not tragic but he loved to think and articulate his thoughts as only he could. Great impact on conservative thinking.
Hey, Walter Mondale was a veritable Barry Goldwater compared to the Democrats we have walking around these days.
That was in 1980. A lot has changed since then.
Actually, there is tremendous progress in the treatment of most cancers. Some are very difficult to treat. Pancreatic cancer and glioblastoma are two of the most difficult to treat, but great progress is being made in those areas.
Five years ago, the median survival time for glioblastoma was about six months. It may be up to two years now. Still pretty much a death sentence, but there is progress.
Pancreatic cancer, if not caught early, had a 1-2% 5-year survival rate five years ago, but early detection protocols is improving those statistics by quite a bit.
Metastatic (spread to the bones) prostate cancer, for which there is no current cure, is now a major focus of research. It affects the most number of men - including me- and great progress is being made. I plan on being around for the cure.
Immunotherapy and viral therapy research is currently a major focus in the treatment of many cancers.
Damn.
The path Charles takes from here will be marked by the struggle ensuing between him, his intellectual pride and the question of God.
I hope Charles will see the limits of his intellect and of his morality, allowing the greater light to shine through. I pray that in recognizing his own resistance Charles will find that greatest human wisdom through humility, rejection of self and submission to the person of Truth.

May his last days on earth be peaceful.
What a shame. That is sad news.
I also appreciated that he didnt let other commentators shout over him. He handle himself at a professional level.
I disagreed with him on some issues, but I respected his approach and he could give me pause of thought.
He is one of the few libs I can wish well as he never intended any of us any harm.
Yes, I always got the sense from him that he had liberal views, but did not believe the Democrats had any real interest in implementing those values. He seemed to be one of the few liberals who could recognize the deception of the leftist politicians, who spoke of compassion for the underclass, but only prolonged their plight in order to win their votes.
Always a thoughtful and elegant speaker, regardless of the passion of the topic or the behavior of the other panelists.
Charles Krauthammer is Jewish.
We’re all terminal.

Every day since his accident has been a gift.
While I don’t know anyone who has raced headlong into the grave. But I don’t think there is anyone who can make that trip with his head held high and knowing he’s beaten the odds.
Prayers for his soul. I think he is a professed atheist. May the Spirit open his heart and mind.
He is a brilliant thinker, no doubt. I didn’t always agree with his conclusions about policy, etc. but he is a thoughtful man.
God be with him and his family.
.
Actually, the only sure fact is that we will face Yeshua, one way or the other.

.
Safe bet.

Death is much, much too good for Hillary. She does not deserve a peaceful exit.
