Trump says he would invite Kim Jong Un to the US if Singapore talks go well
CNBC ^ | June 7, 2018 | Jacob Pramuk

President Donald Trump said Thursday that he would "certainly" invite North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un to the United States if next week's nuclear summit in Singapore goes well.

A visit to the U.S. — which Trump added could take place at the White House — would be remarkable after decades of minimal contact between the U.S. and the communist dictatorship. The talks next week will mark the first time a sitting American president and North Korean leader meet face to face, as the U.S. aims to push Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear and missile programs and ease concerns about the prospect of armed conflict.

At a joint news conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Thursday, the president said he wants to eventually establish normal relations with North Korea if the regime commits to denuclearization. Abe also stressed that Japan — which has long had tensions with North Korea — is ready to normalize its links to Pyongyang, as well.

"Normalizing relations is something that I would expect to do, I would hope to do," Trump said.

While Trump said he sees the "potential to make a deal" with North Korea to get the isolated regime to abandon its nuclear ambitions, he stressed that he is "totally prepared to walk away" from the summit. Trump already canceled the meeting once before it was rescheduled, following a key North Korean official's trip to Washington....

Do yourself a favor and look up the word “Realpolitik.”

Which in Hitler’s case wouldn’t have worked, because he was a spiritual power hound. But for Kim it really does seem to be about dignity. If he can be bribed off with a few yards of red carpet, why not. He’s always got God to look at later.

Kim gets private pomp and circumstance for a day, but North Korea is freed to join the South... what’s not to accept, if not like. Like it or not, Kim is the head of that hellhole. Kim will have to answer to something more powerful than the world. Kim will have to answer to God.

Realpolitik.

And in a sense ... the debacle that is North Korea isn’t just Kim’s fault. It’s the fault of everybody who accepted the bottomless pit there — why haven’t some of his big generals fallen on their swords to take him out? It’s because they are in a spiritual trap. Trump is cutting the Gordian knot here.

Let God punish Kim after Kim dies, if Kim doesn’t respond to the offer of the saving hand of God through Donald Trump. But don’t punish the rest of North Korea.

Maybe even some of Kim’s own men will feed him the wrong Twinkies.

Heh... Just had a crazy idea. McD’s country wide. US Gov owns 15% of each franchise in perpetuity because USAID finances franchises. US airlifts of McD’s raw materials airlifted in from SK and JP at their cost airdropped in or picks up the rare earth metals. Work vouchers for NORKs they can cash in at their reasonably close McD’s. A Generac for each McD’s paid for by JP or SK. McD’s workers eat free and have a some extra take home food for their families.

Lets not talk about introducing them to American BBQ.

My guess is that a combination of South Korea and China would be the source. Japan wouldn’t be up to it.

I mean United Korea... of course that’s going to mostly be South Korea until the North catches up industrially.

Why would we expect 15%? Think like Donald. We finance a bit and you give us a bite. US Military would not mind flying in supplies if they got paid for it. Hell otherwise it would be a humanitarian at our cost action. Do the NORKs care if it is cold right now? Hell no. Blanket their McD’s construction sites with airdropped bags with the US Logo... our flag. On the bags a message. If a plane is coming in and it waggles its wings it is waving to you and wishing you the best. VSGDJT Just wait till you try it hot!

There are going to be very big companies that do about everything going in to the NORKs. Going to go very well for them very fast if the summit works out. SK and JP and the multinationals will be in there like stink on sh!t.

“Hey people on pole number 3 we have the virgin NORK. Tip your wait staff.” How many people want that girl?

I don’t understand why it wouldn’t play out as WAY more China, than Japan. China is the next door neighbor, for goodness’ sake.

IMHO it is because China has been playing them for the fool. Using them to be a thorn in our side. Today Abe made the abductees front and center at the WH. He is offering Un an olive branch. Their people are for some part well educated. They are a future workforce that Japan aging as it is can rely on if they mortgage them a bit.

Just thinking of the practicalities. If we had infinite power over there, shutting China out would be recompense we might want to wreak on China for having fomented the NK situation. But I think the situation is one of trying to use honey rather than vinegar. A new United Korea will have to make its own choices... and it’s true, it may not be all that happy about what China did either. But it should be the one to choose.

He could take him to the steakhouse at the Trump Hotel - one steak from there would feed a NK family for a month!

How many North Koreans have been tortured, raped, murdered, imprisoned, starved to death, frozen to death, or impoverished by the psychopath Kim family?

How many MORE North Koreans have to be tortured, raped, murdered, imprisoned, starved to death, frozen to death, or impoverished by the psychopath Kim family?
