Big surcharge on $$$ sent home to Mexico.
A lot of seasonal produce.
Right now the Mexican Peso is worth $.05 Dollars. (a nickel)
That is $1 = 20 Peso’s
Very bad situation, that is self inflicted by widespread ignorance, corruption and Drug Cartels.
If we “stop” the drug traffic, how long would Mexico survive? Interesting thought.
And
The Merciless Pepper of Quetzalacatenango.
Oh wait, theyre Guatemalan. Never mind
Mexico seems to have forgotten who is the Host and who is a Parasite.
We can get along just fine if Mexico fell into the sea. Mexico cannot exist without a host to feed off of.
Uh, Im pretty sure this is about what messyco buys from us.
FR does, you just need to learn how to use it.
If we cut that flow off how many would still try and get here?
That’s exactly how I see it..cut the flow of $$$ out of the USA to mexico and see how many still want to get here!
Lots of stuff. We send tons of auto parts, machinery and appliance components etc, they do something with them, and then we re-import it all back. Tariffs and duties on all that stuff that ought to be worked on it the US by US workers.... Bring it all home baby!
I’m sorry, I misunderstood. But the lists of things we do buy surprises me.
Yeah, that rings a bell, I think you’re right.
It’s tough when you have a demand spike for a product that you have to ago 5 - 10 - 20 years and beyond.
If you ever get to the Bardstown / the Bourbon Trail, there’s a pretty cool dinner train that takes you though a big forest preserve and the KY countryside, to include alongside a bunch of aging warehouses.
Tax Western Union remittances to mexico @ 110% to cover the difference.
Our domestic snow flakes pay extra for organic grown.
In the article, it mentioned steel and aluminum. The problem is that neither one of these actually comes from Mexico (or Canada), since both countries are using the trade deal as a pass-through for avoiding tariffs on aluminum and steel from - ta da! - China.
Both of these countries need to clean up their acts, and I think that’s why Trump doesn’t want to renegotiate NAFTA, but work out a separate agreement with each of them individually.
Gawd these guys are stupid.
Oil...
Remove all corn subsidies and see how Mexico fares when the price of their main food staple skyrockets.
Every time I rode the buses in Bangkok back in the 60's.
I used them frequently because the price was only 50 Satang which was about 2 1/2 ¢ US.
100 Stang, สตางค์, = 1 Baht, บาท. Back then 1 Baht was roughly a US nickel in value.
Usually the young conductors wouldn't take my Song Salueng, สองสลึง, (1/2 Baht) coin, but instead put me on the back booth seat with the Monks. In Thai culture the back of the bus was for highest status riders.
Sheez, “ the staples” of the average Mexican’s diet! No more burritos for you! Just imagine burritos filled with beans, rice and picante sauce! They will end up being more flatulent that their own cattle! And they will have to resort to drinking Tequila! I love it every time that dwarf "el Presidente" ( Pena Nieto) gets his panties in a wad, and has to call on Vicente Fox to provide help with a litany of four letter word diatribes on TV.
