ABC canceled its hit sitcom "Roseanne" on Tuesday after the show's biggest star, Roseanne Barr, went on a racist Twitter rant.

If Roseanne Barr had said the exact same thing about Ben Carson that she said about Valerie Jarrett, not only would her show still be on the air, it would have been renewed for another two seasons already — and every “woke” “progressive” would be fervently defending her. No question about it.

They cancelled because “comedy wasn’t for Friday nights” or some such lie.
Understand it’s been picked up by Fox for a 7th season.
Not only that, she would have been given a Netflix show in order to allow her to repeat what she said about Carson again and again.
These “Twitter monitors” are like vultures perched on a limb over an open-air abattoir. They must spend all of their waking hours scanning the tweets of people in the news, just to try and find *something* to bitch about, or to report on the news.
I signed up for Twitter, used it for about a week, and I haven’t been back in weeks. All of the Trump tweets are featured in other stories everyday, anyway, and he’s about the only one I would care to follow on there.
Once you become a celebrity, or, if you ARE a celebrity, STAY THE HELL OFF TWITTER. It will take over your life, and probably ruin you. If you work somewhere, it might get you fired, if you’re applying for a job and have tweeted the wrong thing, you probably won’t get hired.
I guess it would be wise to just stay off social media altogether.
The only program I’ve watched on ABC is “Agents of Shield.” I record all programs, but won’t be recording it next season. I’ll view it another way.
Or Justice Thomas, whom they hate about as much.

I disagree when the vehicle for "speech" is the government licensed airwave system.
ABC owes most of it's wealth and power to the government license monopoly it had for it's channels.
Till anyone can get on the air using the same channels, it is in the interest of our system of governance to require them to adhere to the same protections for freedom of speech we require of the government.

That being said...ABC doesn’t need to have an excuse to stop the show. She provided them a great reason to do it, though, and it has nothing to do with free speech. As Rush has been stating today regarding the NFL...you don’t have free speech with your employer.

I’m seeing a pattern here.
She should have stuck to issues. But she made it personal...which I admit is sometimes difficult to avoid, but is more for the DU crowd, really.
