WASHINGTON, DC - MAY 17: U.S. Speaker of the House Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) speaks during a weekly news conference May 17, 2018 on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Ryan held his weekly news conference to answer questions from members of the media. (
Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) on Monday evening became the first sitting GOP member of the House of Representatives to publicly call for the removal of House Speaker Paul Ryan now, rather than on Ryans planned schedule post-election, during an interview on Breitbart News Tonight on SiriusXM.
During a discussion with host and Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Rebecca Mansour about Ryans failures on immigration with a looming pro-amnesty discharge petition hanging in the balance, Gosar hammered the entire current leadership team.
Part of the problem is I think the whole leadership team is toxic, Gosar said. And thats part of the problem. How did we choose this? These are the same group of people that conveyed the jurisdiction of the omnibus. These are the same group of leaders that havent honored a promise.
Gosar pointed to the founding chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), as a solid replacement of Ryan when the time comes. Mansour had asked him about a call from Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaneya Freedom Caucus House member before he joined President Donald Trumps administrationfor Ryan to be removed now to force House Democrats to demonstrate in a floor Speakership vote their true allegiance to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Gosar: “I think Jim Jordan is a great person. I think the move is afoot to draft Jim Jordan, Gosar said. I think if the votes were already had I think the replacement would have already been there. I think the further this goes down the roadI think this was the latest warning call in regards to that process, on the farm bill. I think its time. I think it would energize our base. It would get somebody who would actually get back the jurisdiction and the clout to Congress and the House as equal footings with the Senate and stop taking this crap allowing the Senate to back us into corners and mitigate with ourselves instead of being a fair and equal component like the Senate. This would be the perfect scenariootherwise were going to have the same kind of problems over and over again.”
Paul Gosar, my Congressman (full disclosure, we dislike each other), has promised to fire Ryan for a very long time.
But he’s reading the feeling about Ryan correctly.
Nobody want Ryan limping around as a lame duck through a historic midterm election.
Let me revise that.. He HATES me. :)
For months I’ve heard Rep. Jordan interviewed on Lou Dobbs’ show. His comments/opinions seem to come straight off of the pages of Free Republic. He would be a fantastic replacement for the useless Ryan.
I agree. I’m in Ohio, but he’s not my rep.
I have a good one, but Jordan is among the very best I’ve ever heard.
Ryan and Mc Connell are comprised. Thats what Brennans threat was yesterday.
...But I'm not convinced about Jim Jordan.
Ryan can go have me to his multimillionaire, dem donating wife.
I agree. I just get all fidgety when I see Gosar’s name. He and I have, as they say, “Bad Blood.” I have tried to rectify it, but he’s been uhm, less than gracious.

Nice!
Who’s the most “outsider” of the bunch who is not been corrupted by the GOP self-perpetuation obsession?
So apparently Gosar hasn't had enough like minded people in the House to remove Ryan.
Perhpas, now that Ryan is a lame duck, things might be different.
My 2nd choice would be Devin Nunes.
He is fearless.
Maybe.
