My granddaughter today. She comes from a family of volunteers. Today, I am honoring my Grandfather Charles. He volunteered for WWI and WWII. He never left the US, however, because he was too young in WWI and too old in WWII. Nevertheless, he served during both wars. The Army found plenty for him to do here which freed more able men for overseas.
