Incoming National Rifle Association President Oliver North says school shootings are the product of a “culture of violence,” not the Second Amendment.
“The problem that we’ve got is we’re trying like the dickens to treat the symptom without treating the disease,” Mr. North said on “Fox News Sunday.” “And the disease in this case isn’t the Second Amendment. The disease is youngsters who are steeped in a culture of violence.” He said everything from violence on television to Ritalin, a drug used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, may be contributing to the problem.
“Nearly all of these perpetrators are male, and they’re young teenagers in most cases, and they’ve come through a culture where violence is commonplace,” Mr. North said. “All we need to do is turn on a TV, go to a movie. If you look at what has happened to the young people, many of these young boys have been on Ritalin since they were in kindergarten. Now, I am certainly not a doctor; I’m a Marine. But I can see those kinds of things happening.”

Dumb move. My kid’s first grade teacher wanted him on it. I said hell no. Now, he is still different, very intelligent, struggling, but doesn’t need to be on that. Any time someone talks to me about Adderall, I tell them that Adderall will wreck whoever’s life it is prescribed to. I have seen it happen too often.

America has always been violent. The difference is, if anyone had shot up a school in the old days, he would’ve been hanging from a tree before bedtime.
It doesn’t take that much to determine guilt. But we think we’re wise to let teams of lawyers argue about it for years and years and years. Meanwhile notoreity, fame and fanbases grow for these twisted animals who stick around to face the music. They often even get proposals from starstruck girls, when before, they couldn’t even get a date.
We need vastly expedited justice in these cases so that others, who might be contemplating something similar, find it impossible to see an upside.
Simple FACT:
Since the introduction of gun free school zones, school shootings have increased THREE FOLD.

I thought violent crime is way down? Seems like we would see more if video games were to blame. I think it is alienation caused by social media and the 24 hour entertainment culture.

Yes he is. This has become a cultural phenomenon IMHO with multiple factors, and or including as he mentioned Ritalin, SSRI drugs, lack of father figures, lack of consistent parenting ( foster kids moving around ), the effects of "e communications and media" aka snapchat, instagram, FB etc that are having possibly corrosive effects on feelings of community and connective-ness, diet, exercise, and Faith. Tangent is do we need to revisit institutionalization, no one will go near that subject matter.
