Incoming National Rifle Association President Oliver North says school shootings are the product of a “culture of violence,” not the Second Amendment.
“The problem that we’ve got is we’re trying like the dickens to treat the symptom without treating the disease,” Mr. North said on “Fox News Sunday.” “And the disease in this case isn’t the Second Amendment. The disease is youngsters who are steeped in a culture of violence.” He said everything from violence on television to Ritalin, a drug used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, may be contributing to the problem.
“Nearly all of these perpetrators are male, and they’re young teenagers in most cases, and they’ve come through a culture where violence is commonplace,” Mr. North said. “All we need to do is turn on a TV, go to a movie. If you look at what has happened to the young people, many of these young boys have been on Ritalin since they were in kindergarten. Now, I am certainly not a doctor; I’m a Marine. But I can see those kinds of things happening.”

Antipsychotic drugs like Ritalin have side effects. If a person is psychotic it may help. But if a person is not psychotic to begin with, they can bring it about. The schools certainly don’t want to consider it since they’re the ones doing the prescribing.

He is correct. A hedonistic, debauched society produces disturbed adolescents with no moral compass. Unfortunately the hedonism and debauchery that spawns these lunatics will continue. Face it. Therapy and gun control just doesn’t work The only real option is to be armed and tactically ready to respond when the lunatics act. Also they should not be allowed to surrender once they act.
Saying “culture of violence” is meaningless. It’s a culture of hot dogs, baseball, pizza, and ice cream.
No. It’s that Christianity/Judaism have been thrown out. They carry with them principles of life, or a moral code. They were replaced with essentially nothing, or nihilistic liberalism.
When the very obvious truths of existence are thrown away, the kids have nothing to replace them with.
I’ve said for a long time that schools are drugging boys to keep them from behaving like boys.
I’ve read that in some schools 25% of students are on medication of some type. Shocking if true...

I just read on Breitbart that the shooter was “weirdly unemotional” afterward. There’s your sign. The kid was probably on mind-altering drugs from a fairly young age. These drugs keep the mind from feeling emotion - my SIL was on them. She said that she felt nothing, which helped her deal with her crazy husband, but it also kept her from crying at sad events and enjoying laughter. She was a zombie.

Ritalin, violence in media/video games, breakdown of family, kids demanding instant gratification....very little of this has to do with legally owned firearms.
There is no quick, one size fits all answer to school shootings unfortunately.
I blame it on the media for sensationalizing them so they can prommote their gun control agenda.
The next one is just going to be another stupid kid who wants to get famous, and get back at all the loving and caring little liberal nazi kids who bullied him.
And who knows the media will have him all over the news.
Agreed the media is hugely responsible for these shootings. I wish they wouldn’t give them so much coverage.
ADHD is a “disorder” that requires debilitating drugs be administered to children at school, but a boy that thinks he’s a girl is A-OK, no problem! Ollie is correct.

Cruz (the Parkland Shooter) had 39 encounters with the police. That is not diagnosable as anything but being a Sociopath.
So the experts (sarc.) took a Sociopath and turned him into a speed freak.
Of course the drugs had a major role in the Parkland shootings.

What you say is true. However, most liberals-and people nowadays-would rather kill themselves...or kill YOU...than admit that there is a God and attempt to try to follow Him.
And, to them, Jesus Christ is nothing but a swear word.
