That was his job! This no excuse to spy on the incoming president.
When I read this CBS “News” report, I get visions of a cat working carefully to cover a pile of feces with dried grass.
So..are they saying the New York Times is “fake news”??
Exactly. Turnabout is fair play!
Here is a notion “Journalists”.
Stop trying to spin the story as “Trumps theory” and simply report the facts that are being brought out about the spying on Trump’s campaign.
How about you report the facts and let your viewers/readers decide instead of trying to falsely represent this as “just Trump’s theory”?
This is a prime example Fake News of WHY you are failing.
Full pre-splaining damage control mode.
Clapper, he needs to be waterboarded.

I sense some backstroke going on here. Last week the planted spy was a given and we all were trying to guess who. Now we’re questioning if there was a spy?
The fbi and mueller s investigation have been tight lipped. Lol. Hahahahahaha. Funniest thing Ive read all month
No comments at the site. Figures.
President Donald Trump and his supporters are circulating an explosive “theory”?
A theory...
Well, there is former Director of Intelligence James Clapper, who said Thursday night on CNN that it was a good thing there was an FBI informant spying on the Trump campaign.
So yeah, See B.S. “news,” it’s kinda looking that way...

.
If a Russian spy was infiltrating the Trump campaign, shouldn’t the FBI have notified Trump, not attacked him.
I think it was the Wall St. Journal who started that “conspiracy theory,” CBS. Practically, a Never-Trumper news outlet.
See BS is the worst, and they didn’t disappoint.
MY theory is that British Intelligence incensed over Trump Brexit statements was approached by someone from the Obama Administration to plan a British intelligence agency operation on the Trump campaign and to help the Obama Deep State create a sting operation between the two deep state operatives.
To me the Australian High Commissioner (Ambassador) and Steele connection fits better this way.
Last August, Glenn Simpson of Fusion GPS, who compiled opposition research on Mr. Trump, told a Senate panel that British spy Christopher Steele relied on an "internal Trump campaign source" to compile his now-famous Trump dossier.
The Washington Post reported on the existence of a U.S. citizen who had provided intelligence to the CIA and FBI in the Russia probe. The source had become of particular interest to Nunes, whose committee was quick to dismiss any allegations of collusion between Trump associates and Russia.
According to the Post, the Justice Department clashed with Nunes and refused his request for specific details on the person.
On Wednesday, The New York Times seemed to lend credence to the idea by reporting that "at least one government informant" met several times with former Trump campaign advisers George Papadopoulos and Carter Page.
Moles don't have to be planted, they only have to be recruited. Papadopoulos certainly fits the description of a recruited asset, witting or unwitting.
They need to phone Kim Strassel at the WSJ. She is the only one making sense.
The point being is that CBS will not have any issue at all with a mole being planted if that becomes the facts. For now it is at issue in the media because it is being claimed before the disclosure, just like the wiretapping issue. But when the issue becomes fact they won't care a whit and they will largely "normalize" the act of an Executive Administration planting moles in political campaigns of the opposition.
It’s not a theory. It’s the truth.
Anyone that believed the three big networks would give a fly-f*** about the FBI infiltrating and spying on a Republican, is crazy
