A former Playboy model killed herself and her 7-year-old son after jumping from a hotel in Midtown New York City on Friday morning.
The New York Post reports that 46-year-old Stephanie Adams jumped from the Gotham Hotel penthouse at 8:15 a.m. with her son, Vincent, amid an ongoing custody battle with her ex.

The two moms story with the adopted kids driving off a cliff in to the pacific ocean? Never heard of it. Could have titled it “Vanishing Point”.
Either that or the inkling that being a “former Playmate” indicates that she had it all and threw it away.
Judging by her final action, I think there might have been a miscarriage of justice in that case.

Looks like a black girl married a white guy...bore a white child.
Yes, maybe stress or a pre-existing condition... she could have coasted a long way on her looks; and taking the kid with her... wow.
Just difficult to understand.
More than 40 years ago, as a freshman in college I witnessed the suicide of a college student upset over a bad grade on a biochemistry exam. The story was that he concluded he would then never get into med school. He goes to the top of a 14 story dorm and jumps off at the most crowded time of day for the area below. He brushed a coed as he landed, and while I didn’t see the leap, I heard the impact and saw the aftermath. It had a big effect on those of us who witnessed it, and I thought it was unbelievably reckless for the guy to do that at that time and location - the probability he would have hit another student walking below was very high.
I tried to look up the Gotham Hotel on line, and the images of what appears to be the hotel suggest it is pretty tall. The velocity of someone jumping from those heights would easily kill a person down below. And the child - don’t get me started. This is just sick.
So heartbreaking for both of them. What a beautiful baby. So sad!

She apparently landed on a balcony so not the busy street below, which is a blessing.
Terrible story. She was locked into some long, bitter custody battle with her ex. Why she couldn’t leave the kid behind is beyond me.
The pics up thread are from her younger days. She’s 46 now, and I’m guessing she was living off the child support. Losing custody would mean she would lose that income.
