The Senate on Thursday confirmed Gina Haspel, President Donald Trump's divisive pick to lead the Central Intelligence Agency. The intelligence veteran will become the next CIA director and the first woman to lead the spy agency, despite concerns about her role at the CIA when it employed the "enhanced interrogation" program that used some tactics broadly considered torture. After controversy surrounding Haspel's qualifications, enough Democrats supported her to secure her confirmation. The chamber confirmed Haspel by a 54 to 45 vote. Six Democrats supported her, while two Republicans voted against her. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who was tortured himself and urged his colleagues to oppose Haspel, was absent while fighting brain cancer.
Trump and top Republicans pressed Senate Democrats to support Haspel. Most did not, even though some of those senators voted to confirm current Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to be Trump's first CIA director last year. Democratic Sens. Mark Warner of Virginia, Joe Manchin of West Virginia, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota, Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Bill Nelson of Florida and Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire voted to confirm Haspel. Four of those senators — Manchin, Heitkamp, Donnelly and Nelson — face re-election this year in states Trump won in 2016. On the Republican side, McCain's Arizona colleague Sen. Jeff Flake and Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., voted against Haspel.

I was never waterboarded, but I have many friends who were. It was part of Survival, Escape, and Evasion training and in Special Operations training. Not pleasant I am told, but not the worst thing that must be done in training. While little Democrat twits are safely tucked away in their soft, warm beds, rough men do those things that they need to do to protect this country.

In spite of what are said to be controversies over part of her professional history, they would not have created all the angst they did among the Dims, if Gina was not a female.
The Dims opposed her most of all because she is a woman, as if how dare a GOP president appoint the first female head of the CIA. They do the same thing with all GOP “minority” appointments, in an attempt to manufacture, by their votes, the absence of “minority” persons in GOP administrations. It is done to help their “victim hood” agenda with “minorities”; trying to keep them on the Dim’s plantation.
If the Democrats were in charge, they would appoint Kamala Harris as Director, CIA.

To all the progressive punks who voted against her nomination, I ask if your daughter was kidnapped overseas by Islamic terrorists who will kill her in 24 hours unless certain demands are met, but the CIA had a prisoner with direct knowledge of your daughters location ... would you waterboard the vermin to potentially get lifesaving information or let your daughter be slaughtered?
