I drive by this store to and from work every single day.

On half of those days I stop for something. And every single time I leave the truck running, either because it's hot, or cold, outside.

I guess I ought to stop that.

"To serve and Protect" is the SACPD motto emblazoned on the side of their cars.

Really?

Only idiots do that.

Why is it a crime to leave my car running?

I will definitely leave it on with the AC running if my dogs are in it, though I am also usually in it or very near it at such times as well as I don’t like to leave them unattended.

Many cops are useless POS. No doubt about it. Need to get a real job driving a forklift or something.

There always has been and there always will be ghetto scum.

For that reason there will probably always be something like BLM.

What is new is the legions of hangers-on. I think only MOST are brainless wannabe’s. More and more there are people who WILL not stand up for the cops.

A lot of the time their reasons are pretty good.

I used to stand up for ALL cops.

Now I don’t.

My Honda has a way of locking the car and then turning on the engine. There is, however, no way to drive the car without the fob in your pocket.
I run it in the summer with the AC on to avoid the felony animal abuse of leaving the dog in the car.

"To serve and Protect" is the SACPD motto emblazoned on the side of their cars.

What is not part of the motto is who or what they serve and protect, which is the government.

Williams responds saying he was standing nearby

So, I suppose charges of loitering and mopery will be added.

Careful Mariner, or you and this guy will be faces charges of conspiracy to loiter, and organized mopery. You better hope you never leave your engine running after dusk, or you will be looking at mopery in the nightime.

And they wonder why they get arrested. Maybe the rationale is escalate a petty incident, try to get the cop to do something stupid, get a big settlement.

I don’t leave my car running ever when I’m not in it. I also am always polite when a law enforcement officer with a firearm issues orders to me. Generally, good manners will get a normal person out of just about any problem (other than traffic violations) with the law.

However, this law against leaving your car running is stupid. The government should have no role in discouraging stupid behavior. If your car gets stolen enough times, your rates are likely to go up, and that will change behavior. As for “Global Warming” or the latest evolution of that name, the Left has finally created a way to make sure their hoax kills people.

1. Stupid law to begin with.

2. Stupid law enforcement action, wasting time on a worthless charge when felons are running around loose

3. Stupid reaction by the individual to the police officer. lack of respect escalated to nonsensical levels.

It is common practice in Idaho to have "remote start". My wife uses in the Winter when she works night shift and there is snow fall. She can press a button and get the engine and cab warmed up. Great when it is +10F. You can't drive the car in that condition. It only works in Park. To drive it, you must insert the key. The engine will stop and require a proper start.

It's nice when the temperature is 95 plus degrees as well. Air conditioning to cool the blazing interior. Again, so safety concern since there is no physical key in the ignition. The steering wheel is locked. Tne security system has the engine locked out for purposes of driving.
