I agree. The only way tyhis information would be released is:

1) its untrue

OR

2) they cannot get to PDJT with it as evidence, and so they use it for propaganda purposes.

As far as I know there are only two ways Avenetti could have gotten this information legally:

1. From Michael Cohen himself (not likely)

2. From the Russian company that paid the $500,000 (certainly a possibility)

If it isn't one of these two, then the information was either obtained illegally or is false. Knowing how Trump operates, there's also the possibility that Item #1 above is what happened, but it's a fabricated piece of information put out there to troll Avenetti.

CNN of all media outlets seems to be very skeptical about this. That speaks volumes about it.
