Trump Withdraws U.S. From ‘One-Sided’ Iran Nuclear Deal
NY Times ^ | May 8, 2018 | Mark Landler

President Trump declared on Tuesday that he was pulling out of the Iran nuclear deal, unraveling the signature foreign policy achievement of his predecessor, Barack Obama, and isolating the United States among its Western allies.

“This was a horrible one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made,” Mr. Trump said at the White House in announcing his decision. “It didn’t bring calm, it didn’t bring peace, and it never will.”

It was not a treaty.

Obama and Kerry were forced to draw it up as an executive agreement because a treaty with its manifest shortcomings would never have been ratified by the Senate.

They got their deal but it backfired on them. In the end, neither the fake news media nor the Euroweenies could save it.

Bye.

Iran was already in violation . Given the generous terms they had obviously they were never serious about anything but making H-bombs. With all the Americans they have already murdered I say give them the bomb, even test it for them on their territory!

If Obama really wanted to protect his signature foreign policy achievement, he should have had the Senate properly ratify it as a treaty so Trump couldn’t pull out of it like he just did.

He would have, if he could have. There were too many secret side-deals. He never could have gotten the two-thirds vote necessary out of the Senate.

That's the point -- he couldn't.

Obama had previously rationalized taking unilateral executive action by calling saying that if Congress failed to act, he would act. Pundits pointed out that Congress "failing" to act is itself an act; it is essentially a pocket veto of the Congressional kind, but it is not permission for the President to thumb his nose at them and act anyway.

Obama showed the same tendency when he declared that Congress's recess was not a "real" recess when he recess-appointed members to the National Labor Relations Board. SCOTUS had to rule that Congress, and not the President, gets to declare what is and is not a recess, and they invalidated Obama's appointments.

Listen to the announcement. Grand slam by Trump. Of course the fake media is doing everything it can to avoid playing the announcement and putting their own fraudulent spin on it.

Here is a WaPo article from 2015 talking about secret deals Obama cut without Kerry’s knowledge [BS?] or sharing of data with Congress. Susan Rice dutifully obfuscated.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/obamas-secret-iran-deals-exposed/2015/07/27/26d14dbc-3460-11e5-8e66-07b4603ec92a_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.cfd06a1527ea

Pull Quotes:
President Obama promised that his nuclear deal with Iran would not be “based on trust” but rather “unprecedented verification.” Now it turns out Obama’s verification regime is based on trust after all — trust in two secret side agreements negotiated exclusively between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that apparently no one (including the Obama administration) has seen.

Worse, Obama didn’t even reveal the existence of these secret side deals to Congress when he transmitted the nuclear accord to Capitol Hill. The agreements were uncovered, completely by chance, by two members of Congress — Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) — who were in Vienna meeting with the U.N.-releated agency.

In an interview, Pompeo told me that he and Cotton were meeting with the deputy director of the IAEA and the agency’s two top Iran negotiators just days after the nuclear accord was announced, when they asked how the agency will carry out verification at the Iranian military complex at Parchin. IAEA officials told them, quite casually, that the details were all covered in agreements negotiated between the IAEA and the Iranian government. It was the first they had heard of the side deals.

Trump is the greatest president since Washington.

Honestly, at this point it’s not even a debate, no one else comes close.

And we still have 7 more years to go !

This is the danger of [Barry Soetoro] using his "pen and phone" (and using it part-time to cut secret side deals) instead of running a real treaty through Congress.

That's what is wrong with Fox in the afternoon. Shepard Smith had his little panties in a twist. He was quoting a Russian state official (Iran's ally) saying Trump did a very bad thing. And Trump can't pull out of the Iran deal, he can only violate the agreement. Then he started hyper-ventaliting when Obama released a 3 page response. Awful.

The leaders of Britain, Germany and France immediately urged the U.S. not to take any actions that could prevent them and Iran from continuing to implement the agreement. The statement from Prime Minister Theresa May, Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Emmanuel Macron also urged Iran to “show restraint” and continue fulfilling its own obligations such as cooperating with inspections.

Stupid appeasers and communists all.

Eff them and Eff Iran.

We should probably continue with it despite its weaknesses (retention of centrifuges, missiles?).

Trump hadn’t told MelaniaTrump yet? Boy, he’s playing the MSM so much!
I can’t get on Twitter right now. Don’t know if this is part of Jack’s (?) attack on conservative Tweeters, but I assume it is. Wish I could read what @ThomasWictor’s tweeting about this. I can read threads by him, but there’s nothing on this yet.
