And that that was a part of the bias in journalism. I initially thought that journalism’s deadline-driven superficiality was the other component in its cynicism. The point that should have been obvious about that, but which didn’t click with me until relatively recently (late 2016, according to a quick check) is that anyone who knows that journalism is negative, and yet claims that journalism is objective, is a cynic. It is no more complicated than that. “Negativity = Objectivity” is a statement of cynicism.
