IF youre looking for somebody else to comment on where the Mueller investigation has gone and whether or not its exceeded the original stated goals, I suppose we could ask someone who has spent some time with a special prosecutor himself. Enter one of the people you would least expect to be throwing the President a lifeline. That would be longtime Clinton confidant Mark Penn. His epic battle with Ken Starr back in the nineties has been the subject of more books and documentaries than I could count and he showed up on Fox News this week to weigh in. His conclusions were less than flattering to Mueller, questioning his honesty at times and concluding that the entire investigation is too tainted at this point to keep on digging.
Former longtime Clinton confidant Mark Penn said the federal probe into Russian meddling during the 2016 election is irretrievably tainted.
I spent a year fighting Ken Starr, Penn said of the special prosecutor who investigated President Clinton. This [Trump] investigation had no foundation.
He said it is based on what he called the fruits of the poisonous tree.
This whole thing was corrupt, Penn said. I dont think we should waste another year here [on this].
As you see in the interview, it doesnt take much prompting to wind up Penn and send him off to the races. He tags all manner of people involved in the investigation without even being specifically asked about them. He goes after the FBI lovebirds and their bias against Trump and the GOP. He also notes how Comey is profiting off his book tour by saying, I met with the Clintons more than 400 times. I never wrote a book
a tell-all like this.

Trump, and we Deplorables, got Magoo’d
Ken Starr won virtually every legal battle. Unfortunately, with a big boost from an unfair press, Clinton won the political battle.
Mueller and his Staff are not going to end this thing until they are forced to. They are making more money then they would ever dream of in Private Practice. They are all getting rich on the Taxpayer Dime and they will string this thing out as long as they can. The media should focus on the REAL reason for this and that is “Follow the Money”.
It will be a great comedy when the Hollowoodies turn it into a “Based on a true story” movie.
Uh oh. As I predicted, when the Ds start wising up to the real purpose of Mulehead’s investigation, watch out. They’ll try to kill it.
jeff sessions could end this farcical “investigation” if he injected his squirrel size gonads with steroids.
Well, there is certainly that. The immediate over-staffing of expensive professionals would not have been justified under any circumstance apart from an obvious and imminent threat to national security.
Clearly, those who hold the purse strings should quickly determine under which narrow and specific conditions they will continue to fund the out-of-control SC. The reluctance, or even failure, to do so suggests the extent of this travesty.
Mueller is tainted.
Would this be the Russia ‘collusion’ investigation, or the Russia ‘cahoots’ investigation ?
It is stunning beyond belief what is going on... and all of it right under the nose of the one man who could end it tomorrow: Jeff Sessions.
Ken Starr was Bad Cop to Clinton’s Good Cop.
He shut down murder investigations related to Clintons - twice.
They all knew sex would not get him removed.
Kabuki Theater by a Swamp Creature.

IOW, now that the ropes are closing on the necks of the Clintons and Obama, it's time to stop. Thanks mandaladon.
LOL - YOU'RE right on this Civ... that's what's happening. They want to call it quits if they're being investigated.
