Do the Democrats really want to lose all of those electoral votes?

The irony is that the real answer is much more robust Federalism. Scale back the federal government and give the states a lot more power over domestic issues. Let the Feds just take care of Defense, foreign policy, border control, etc.

I’m fine with Californians wanting to secede from the union. Pack up your crap and drive north till you enter Canada or south until you get into Mexico and good riddance because America is going to keep the land.

The reality is most of the U.S. would like to see them gone making it politically touchy at best. If they want to go, we want them to go, who’s going to stop it? And why?

In the final analysis I think it more likely the State fragments, and in the process reality sets in and they all go home and leave it alone.

They don’t think, they feel. Now Bankrupt Memphis, TN wants to secede from the State, it could not survive without state money. They can’t fund schools, LEO, Fire, teachers, the 1 public hospital, or the welfare rolls. Much less fix the potholes, or get the trash picked up on a regular basis.

Interesting!

If the issue is put on a statewide ballot, is that not a sign of open rebellion? Could not California be declared a state in open rebellion, then subsequently occupied by Federal troops, broken up, and re-established as a group of separate states, under the same process that created West Virginia at the outset of the Civil War?

I am so sad this will never happen. The Democratic Party would be hamstrung without California’s 55 electoral votes or national house members.

Also, the new nation of California would quickly learn what its socialist policies do when the USA no longer served as a buffer for their problems.

I can imagine these Calexit people will be drummed into a boardroom with Nancy Pelosi and given the what for. Not sure how far federal Democrats will go, but they may move heaven and earth to make sure the Cal Exit vote never sees the light of day.

This is just the la raza crowd and the hardcore leftist socialist-democrats in California daydreaming.

As much as the rest of the US would just love to see all of these fruits, nuts, and flakes just go away, they won’t get off that easy.

California would be federalized, revert to a federal territory, and the state government removed before they even have a chance of actual secession.

Go right on ahead and vote for secession, so we can start cleaning out all of the leftists infesting the state.

I don’t get it.

Will they change their mind if a Rat becomes POTUS in 2020?

If that happens, the entire United States of America will become one big California.
