Trump on Earth Day: 'Strong, market-driven economy is essential' to protecting environment
The Washington Examiner ^ | April 22, 2018 | Melissa Quinn

President Trump celebrated Earth Day on Sunday with a message promoting how a “healthy environment and a strong economy go hand in hand.”

“We know that it is impossible for humans to flourish without clean air, land, and water. We also know that a strong, market-driven economy is essential to protecting these resources,” the president said in his message. “For this reason, my administration is dedicated to removing unnecessary and harmful regulations that restrain economic growth and make it more difficult for local communities to prosper and to choose the best solutions for their environment.

“Already, we are making great economic progress in concert with—not in opposition to—protecting our environment.”

Trump vowed on the campaign trail to undo a number of environmental regulations implemented during the Obama administration and has followed through with that promise. He also announced last year the U.S. would be withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement.

Good issue oriented message. Hopefully, we’ll see more when Trump finally gets into campaign mode.

It’s a good day to turn on all the lights, start my car, and eat lots of refried beans.

The thing about Trump is I believe he means what he says.
Get in the way of business and he’ll kick your ass.
Pollute the air and water and he’ll kick your ass.

The only obstacle to either goal is the Swamp.

Now add limited to no immigration . . . stop expanding the cities, paving over prairie, farm and forested lands. Reduce noise and air pollution, demands for food, crowded freeways and highways.

I hate like hell to see virgin lands uprooted or nice neighborhoods ruined to support an increasing population, fueled by immigration and their offspring. Just keep them TFO

Well now wait a second here, he’s not wrong. He didn’t say those things to antagonize anyone, he said those things because they are true.

If you want to see environmental catastrophe, look no further than hard core totalitarian societies like the former Soviet Union. While the US historical record is by no means stellar, it is light years ahead of everybody else.

The quickest, surest, most lasting method for the greatest number of people to have the highest standard of living with the cleanest environment is for they and their governments to embrace truly free market economies coupled with the rule of law, property rights, equality under the law, sovereign borders, the right of self-defense, etc., etc., etc.,

We know what works, it’s not a secret formula or difficult to understand. Unfortunately or tragically so to do the leftists, totalitarians, the bolsheviks, the authoritarians, et al. That’s why they are so insistent about destroying those things, or never allowing them to flourish in the first place.

...and Hillary’s answer would be what the Swamp has been preaching for decades now - which is that the best way to clean up the environment is to have OTHER COUNTRIES, particularly China, destroy their environments by producing our goods.

I always use Earth Day to do my annual long-duration light bulb test (still all incandescents).

And, it has the added advantage of being true. The biggest environmental abuse particularly from industry comes from governments living under poverty and tyranny.

The Soviet Union and the Eastern Block countries are proof of that.

“Well now wait a second here, he’s not wrong.”

No he’s not!
I totally agree with him and you!

But in Climate Change circles the dirty little not-so-secret is:

It’s a vehicle for global socialism, or at the very least a tool to destroy American capitalism.

“And, it has the added advantage of being true.”

Agree. It’s incredibly clever to pronounce free-market capitalism as the soul-mate of environmentalism. As moonbats all believe otherwise.

Trump shows he knows his stuff.

“healthy environment and a strong economy go hand in hand.”

The greatest polluters on earth are Marxist nations led by China at number one.

A vibrant free market economy is the one that cleans up the environment. If one looks at the environmental history of the old Soviet Union it was disaster after disaster. The same can be said for Venezuela today under Marxism. Lake Maracaibo has become a polluted sewer. Back in the 70s I would eat fish from Lake Maracaibo. Today I would touch nothing that came out of its waters.

I love it. We let leftists get away too long on too many things because questioning their faulty premises on so many thing was considered to be an ad hominem attack, so we didn’t, and here we are.

I love how Trump approaches the Presidency, he doesn’t seem beholden to as many things as others have been to various things, and even better, doesn’t seem to give a rat’s patootie about who does or who doesn’t like him.

For me, it was cemented when he had his Rose Garden press conference to withdraw from the Paris Climate agreement, and outright called global warming a wealth redistribution scheme.

I nearly fell out of my chair, to hear our President say something so undeniably true, and so impossible for politicians to say. I grin as I write this...:)

I read some big city liberal rag's comment sections.

After they read this there will be liberal outrage and exploding heads and new calls for Impeachment from coast to coast.

Funny to watch them pontificate.
