The first migrants from a caravan that sparked the ire of President Donald Trump have started arriving at the US-Mexico border and asking for asylum, advocates say.
About 50 Central Americans have arrived in Tijuana, Mexico, according to Juventud 2000, an organization that assists migrants in that border city.
Of those, about 10 have turned themselves in to US authorities at the border. Others are waiting for a larger contingent from the caravan to arrive before they head north, Juventud 2000 Director Jose Maria Garcia Lara said.

Pointing out the number of Americans with an immigrant parent tells us nothing about how to fight illegal immigration. Let’s stick to enforcing our laws, opposing amnesty, and closing loopholes, and cut out insinuations about persons with one of more immigrant parents.

No insinuation...Just that a large number of immigrants here...Illegal or not...
When many of us were born that number was insignificant - on the order of 1 in 50, or even 100. Mid-50s in my case.
The assumption then was that America was settled, no newcomers were needed, and the natural growth rate of the existing Americans was sufficient.
Can any of you tell me why any foreign nationals should have any entitlement to enter the United States, the world’s most powerful and succesful country, when they and their families had nothing to do with the establishment and development of the country?
To say nothing of the fact that most “immigrants” are entitled to special privileges (”affirmative action”) over and above most Americans - simply because they are not “white”! (except of course for white Spaniards, who apparently are God Like creatures deserving of preferences simply because they lost all the wars they fought with us!
That 1 in 4 children are the descendants of people with no history in this country merely shows how utterly unfair and insane the last 50 years have been.

But what ‘someone’ forgets is, with a few exceptions, America not only severely restricted immigration from the start, (congregations, companies, indentured) but went isolationist as a means to congeal the nation as an extension of an Anglo-Saxon European heritage, much as Australia did. Latins weren’t a big consideration because Mexico was having a hard time finding people willing to move to border territories, even if paid. The constant danger of Indians, whose ‘winter sport’ was raiding Mexican towns near the border, was too much to risk for an isolated parcel of land.

I have been around the border the last week for a Baja/San Diego motorcycle trip. The border patrol presence is staggering. Helicopters, trucks, cars, check points... I’m staying in El Cajon right now.

You can bet that Mexico has killed their share of migrants and quietly buried them.
You expect someone who endosered the influx of Syrian refugees to do what exactly? He is better at chuck and Nancy deals funding every liberal program and talking about ending due process to take away guns. He is at least tied with Obama in his anti 2A law signing presidency.
