I’m sorry, but if they were asked to leave, and didn’t, and wound up arrested because they refused to leave... what exactly is the city to investigate???

The only thing that might be dubious would the selective enforcement of Starbucks loitering policy by STARBUCKS... has nothing to do with the city of the cops.

“talk about real estate” translates to “discuss which street corner is best for selling dope”

Yeah - If only Starbucks carried some malt liquor 40s, then they would have ordered something.

There is nothing for the CITY to investigate....

The only POSSIBLE ‘outrage’ would be if this starbucks selectively enforced its loitering policy, but even if it did, that’s not illegal.

If starbuck’s decided to enforce its loitering policy against those who are melanated more agressively than those who are not, then that’s racism on the part of starbucks.. has nothing to do with the city... What exactly does the Mayor intend to “investigate”????

They could have waited for their friend outside. Or, they could have told the clerk or manager they were waiting for a friend, and asked if it was alright to do so. Common sense solutions that morons who think they’re entitled to do whatever they want couldn’t possibly think of. I’m happy the Starbucks lefties are getting hammered. I guess their “Let’s talk about race” coffee cup messages didn’t work.

I miss the days when local stories were local stories.

When I grew up that story would have been given two sentences in the police blotter section on page 13 of the weekly newspaper. No one I knew was ever written up but there would be quite an assortment in there from minor miscreants to perverts and assaulters.

“I never understood how that was supposed to work. Were you supposed to discuss Trayvon and Ferguson, Missouri with the cashier, or hold up the line and discuss that with the person behind you in line?”

I think it was supposed to happen after you got your “drink,” because they had “reminders” printed on the cups they used to load up your cup of “swill!”

This is a non-story that someone is pushing hard.
I doubt anyone really cares about these guys except it keeps being brought up again and again.

“Waiting for a friend” is a well used street euphemism for waiting for your connection to deliver your dope. It is what you say to all the other hustlers and working girls on the street who check you out thinking you are a customer looking for their particular goods and services. Try standing around on a busy corner in certain city neighborhoods and you will find you need a standard line to get them to leave you alone. Not sure I blame the manager for calling the cops, although it may have been a “misunderstanding.”
