Instead of solving the problem of violence in their halls, Pennsylvania schools are becoming a national punchline.
This week, one school district announced it will arm teachers with miniature 16-inch long baseball bats. Another district recently placed 5-gallon buckets of rocks in classrooms so students could defend themselves in the event of an attack.

WTH is wrong with these people??????????????????
What they really need is strategically placed 16 ton weights.
When we were kids, we actually played throwing rocks up and hitting them with bats. The bats didn`t last long but we didn`t care coz our uncle was a salesman for the St. Louis Sluggers

Parkland had all of that crap, it doesn’t matter if the guy with the gun is determined to get into the building
Sandy Hook, the gunman busted out the window to get in.
Pull the fire alarm and all of those mag locks become disengaged and all the doors are unlocked as per fire code.
I don’t understand why teachers don’t have their doors shut and locked, that would help, and when an intruder is in the building, have the students stack the desks in front of the door.
Controlling access is a start. Defense in depth is key.
Right: Meanwhile in Israel.
I guess they haven’t heard of ‘don’t take a knife to a gun fight’. I sure don’t think it would be wise to take a bat to a gun fight either.
Bucket of rocks? What is this, a Palestinian school?
“Bucket of rocks? What is this, a Palestinian school?”
No, they’d be wearing suicide vests.
Parkland had all the security, but deliberately disabled it at school closing so that the flow of students would not be slowed down.
This is what one school district in MI is doing:
