Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., says he believes a majority of the public doubts the official U.S. government contention that Syrian President Bashar Assad used chemical gas against the final rebel-held town near Damascus.
Anybody who has tried to explain to me why Assad would do this sounds like a conspiracy theorist, said Massie, a libertarian Republican from Kentucky. It requires really contorted thinking to think Assad did this. You have to come up with very complicated reasons.
I cannot think of a reason he would, Massie said.

...a majority of the public doubts...
A majority of the public doesnt have access to the same intelligence reports and analysis that the POTUS does.
While Im not thrilled at the thought of it, I have to give the President the benefit of the doubt that he knows more about it than I do.”
This^^^^^^^ How many of the doubters on this board saw the same evidence that President Trump saw.
“Putin is a chess player. This opening move will be well thought out and intended as a probe to test the water.”
If we did not act what kind of a message does that send to North Korea?
Bless Thomas Massie. Always liked that guy.
And BTW, "normal" people WOULDN'T understand a person who uses chemical weapons on women and children. Doesn't make it an "untrue" fact, just because YOU wouldn't do it.
That being said, maybe while they're dropping bombs, they'll hit the "alleged" permanent Iranian military facility being built south of Damascus. Might make Iran think twice about moving into Syria to continue their war games against Israel and the West.
What right or place do we have, to do anything in Syria?
We can’t take care of our own country!
Mattis says it was used, and most people will believe him.
Am I reading this correctly that a vast majority on this forum are against the missile strikes against Syria? I can’t tell whether it’s the majority or just the vocal minority.
We can do this kind of war but talking about militarizing our border is considered porn-makes me furious!
Are the IC more informed than the US population, with all of its recent immigrants from all over the Erf?
Oops! Sorry, posted that on the wrong thread.
When is Trump going to announce attacks on ‘Monster’ Erdogan?
That's okay.....I found it too funny.
If the end is near.......guess I better get on in the kitchen and eat that second piece of pie I kept telling myself I didn't need.
And now that I think about it.....that means I don't have to do all those chores I had planned for me tomorrow, either.
Cool, I think I'll just go fishing.
I’m against getting involved in Syria but I strongly support President Trump and will defer to his judgement.
Hopefully this is just a pony show to get the warmongers off his back.
LOL
Heck, put a scoop of ice cream on it. Live like a president, have two scoops! ;-)
How many of the doubters on this board saw the same evidence that President Trump saw.

You mean intelligence from the same intelligence agencies that supported electronic surveillance of Trump campaign members. Theyre certainly ones to be trusted & believed 100%.
It is not unreasonable to question them.
Screw you raiderboy!
Teach a man to fish and he will sit on his ass and drink beer. Boy that sounds good.
This doubt is the result of that pathetic Zer0 and what he did to our intelligence assets. He used it to weaponize its capability against our citizens. Our intelligence did find Osama Bin Lauden and our military took him out—all with little support by Zer0. However, Benghazi was a disaster as with much due to Zer0’s neglect. We cannot look at the past because President Trump will bring peace through strength. We will be more safe. President Trump will take action with a revitalized intelligence system.
I am not a Libertarian nor isolationist but believe Paul is correct.
