Fabio: Why California is falling apart
The Tucker Carlson Show ^ | 29 March 2018 | Tucker Carlson

Posted on 04/07/2018 11:21:14 AM PDT by Steely Tom

The Golden State is losing its glitter, rapidly. California has the nation's highest poverty rate. homelessness is rampant. State officials are focused on protecting illegal immigrants from deportation rather than reversing the flight of the state's middle class. Actor and model Fabio, an immigrant, weighs in on California's decline.

Got some homegrown Kabuki in my own state of South Carolina. Some solon introduced a bill requiring S.C. to secede (what, again?) if the jackbooted flying monkeys come to confiscate our guns.

Now...I’m a red hot no compromise 2nd Amendment defender. But bills like this just waste legislators’ time (maybe a good idea) and only serve to grandstand Confederate nostalgia freaks who BTW weren’t the ones who originally risked all & took the plunge to secede.

As for confiscation, I did a boatload of research on gun control during the 2016 campaign, just to keep my blood pressure down. But I concluded that confiscation especially the door to door kind is extremely unlikely to come about.

Massive “assault weapon” registration noncompliance in CA, CT, NY, MA has resulted in some I’ll-huff-and-I’ll-puff from four starred polizei, but no deployment of officers to get out there and start banging on doors.

(off topic I know) Where confiscation is taking place is up close & personal for anyone denounced to the po-po by disgruntled family members or neighbors; due process be d@mned. Preemptive precrime interventions they’re called.

Anyway, Kabuki’s not just for Congress anymore.

I can't tell you how sad that Ahaheim walking-path video makes me.

When I was a child, my family lived in California for six months. In Santa Monica.

I never forgot it, how it felt, the dry warmth, the beautiful sun, the lovely streets, and palm trees, my beautiful school (Mar Vista Elementary School).

Growing up in the northeast, I always hoped and expected to go back to California one day, to make it my home, to explore high technology there and build a company, to learn to fly a plane, to scuba dive... all the fun and exciting things I saw people doing and heard about people doing during the brief time I had to experience California in the early 1960s.

Now, as far as I can see, it's all gone. It has been completely destroyed, and my childhood dream will never happen. I'm building my high tech company in the state I grew up in, cold and often cloudy, but far from the madness I've heard Victor Davis Hanson talk about.

VDH owns a large property in the Central Valley, and he talked about how he catches non-English speaking people dumping drums of toxic waste on his land; he has to patrol his own property to stay even with the problem.

I'm beyond heartbroken about it. I can't even express how I feel. As a child, I saw houses being built in the hills north of Santa Monica, where my dad would drive us to sight-see on a Saturday. I thought for sure I would live in one of those houses one day, or even build one of my own. It was like a little promise I made to myself, to return and not have to leave.

Thanks for posting that. It sums up explicitly what I wanted to say. It's populous LA and SF with their hordes of elitist, union and illegal liberals that determine who goes to Sacramento.

The CA Republican Party is made up of mostly ineffective rich wimps in the Schwarzenegger mold who are just a little to the Right of Pelosi. I'm too old to get involved politically except through cash donations but most candidates here are either unknowns with no chance of winning or left-leaning "moderates." It's sad and terribly frustrating.

I like Tucker, but I didn’t care for that interview.

I think he could have drawn much more out of Fabio.

I’m all in favor.....of course the rest of the state should have the right to secede from the coastal strip starting north of Orange County and running about 20 miles inland up to just north of Oakland.

Venezuela has a GDP of 371 billion. California is 2.5 trillion. Almost 7X

I just hope they don't bring their beliefs and voting records with them

But they do...and after they contaminate new states they wonder why things went to hell. I'm a conservative trapped in CA but am having trouble finding a neighboring state I can move to without having to deal with entrenched liberals.

Apparently not just a nice set of abs.

I have heard from the romance writers convention attendees that he actually is very nice in person.

The only solution is to corral all rats/liberals into their own geographical area, and not let them migrate into red areas. They will collapse under their own lame principles and stupidity. They cannot survive without Republicans/Conservative in the mix to pay their way. They would only be allowed to leave once showing a stable economy under their own ideals.

Not any more. Illegal immigration, gerrymandering and college-indoctrinated socialists are changing the demographic. When B-1 Bob Dornan was defeated (with illegal votes) by Loretta Sanchez, the handwriting was on the wall for Orange County.

I love Fabio. He chased a drunk George Clooney out of a restaurant recently because he was harassing women at Fabio’s table.

The more insane this country is getting, I think they really may try secession. There would only be one response from the Federal government and it would be ugly.

I entered CA for the first time in 1986. They questioned me at the border r.e. fruits and nuts (agricultural concerns). Stayed there for a year (vicarage).

I entered CA for the second time in 2017 - less than 6 months ago. The port of entry was abandoned. Fruits and nuts are apparently no longer a concern.
