Caravan won't end in Mexico. Some migrants will risk trip to US border

The caravan of Central American migrants going through Mexico to the US border isn't ending. Instead, its participants will disperse into smaller groups after reaching Mexico City.

While some will stay in Mexico to try to get refugee status there, others will continue north to the US border.

Organizers of the caravan estimate that some 200 or so people will proceed all the way to the US border in the coming days, although the number could be higher. Last year, about 150 went all the way to the border, they said.

Pueblo Sin Fronteras caravan or People Without Borders has organized the event for years. The caravan has always dispersed into separate, smaller groups at some point along the journey. What has been striking is that this year's event has the largest number of people ever, with more than 1,100.

They’ll be holding pre-made protest signs in English when they can’t even speak English.

Many of these invaders are not even literate in their own language, let along know anything about English. My God have you looked at all the bending over backwards Americans do to help educate these "foreign invaders" in our English speaking school districts - thanks to the courts who now stand with the non-citizens over Americans.

Shoot them when they attempt to cross! Just freaking shoot them - and if they survive, then shoot them again.

It’s time to send a message to these Central American dogs and their Mexitrash enablers.

In fact, Mexico is committing acts of war against the U.S., and we should respond in kind. Annex a strip of land several miles deep into Mexico, along the entire border. Permanently entrench Army units there, and destroy anything that attempts to infiltrate. Further, we should tell the Mexican government that we will bomb Mexico City into dust if Mexico’s leaders continue their aggression.

The ONLY way this invasion will stop is when the U.S. makes the cost in lives and assets too high for the Mexican government to continue their enabling of it.

It will come down to blood - because that is the only thing the Marxist thugs of the Mexican government understand.

Watch some little insignificant pipsqueak judge in CA, OR, or HI pop up and declare DJT’s action “UNCONSTITUTIONAL”

On one of the other threads, someone with actual BP experience posted about this. I will try to find. Hmm, did a cursory search, can’t find at the moment.

But the freeper with at least a couple of decades of experience at the border posted that when NG assisted, it freed up large numbers of BP who were able to do the active patrol job much better. So even the NG in a support role helps tremendously. The voice of experience said this. I should have bookmarked, I’ll try to find the comment later. A lot of threads to look through.

Yes it has. 1,500 attempted incursions a day. I’d call that an invasion.

“risk trip to US border.”

I am so confused. Where is there any risk unless they’re trying to enter illegally. If they walk thru a checkpoint they will turned back. If they try to enter thru a non-checkpoint they may make it or they may get stopped. If stopped what then? I guess they should be turned back, deported? What risk? Media implying they’re going to be shot?

hope so if something legally apply.

Insurrection Act
The general purpose is to limit presidential power, relying on state and local governments for initial response in the event of insurrection

Better fit
The 2008 Defense Authorization Bill, repeals the changes made in the 2007 bill.

The 2007 Defense Authorization Bill, with over $500 billion allocated to the military, and which also contained the changes to the Insurrection Act of 1807, was passed by a bipartisan majority of both houses of Congress: 398-23 in the House and by unanimous consent in the Senate.[4] For military forces to be used under the provisions of the revised Insurrection Act, the following conditions must be met:

  (1) The President may employ the armed forces, including the National Guard in Federal service, to--

    (A) restore public order and enforce the laws of the United States when, as a result of a natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition in any State or possession of the United States, the President determines that--

      (i) domestic violence has occurred to such an extent that the constituted authorities of the State or possession are incapable of maintaining public order; and

(ii) such violence results in a condition described in paragraph (2); or

    (B) suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy if such insurrection, violation, combination, or conspiracy results in a condition described in paragraph (2).

  (2) A condition described in this paragraph is a condition that--

    (A) so hinders the execution of the laws of a State or possession, as applicable, and of the United States within that State or possession, that any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law, and the constituted authorities of that State or possession are unable, fail, or refuse to protect that right, privilege, or immunity, or to give that protection; or

    (B) opposes or obstructs the execution of the laws of the United States or impedes the course of justice under those laws.

To proclaim a state of insurrection is a necessary prerequisite if cascading powers, such as is found in 50 U.S.C. § 212 Confiscation of property employed to aid insurrection, are to be used.

Differences between old and new wording
The original wording of the Act required the conditions as worded in Paragraph (2), above, to be met as the result of

insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy

The new wording of the Act, as amended, still requires the same conditions as worded in Paragraph (2), above, but those conditions could, after the changes, also be a result of

natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition

and only if

domestic violence has occurred to such an extent that the constituted authorities of the State or possession are incapable of maintaining public order.

By provisions in the amended act, Congress was granted the right to be informed immediately and every 14 days thereafter during the exercise of federal authority under these conditions.

I think that's the ticket which can be employed according to my non-legal mind reading it.

Make them temporary deputies of the Border Patrol so they can detain illegal aliens for the BP.

“whatever military force we put on the border is limited by law to monitoring, intelligence, construction, etc.”

Not so.

They are limited by convention and policy.

There is no law that stops the US from using the military to prevent unauthorized entry.

Unfortunately, whatever military force we put on the border is limited by law to monitoring, intelligence, construction, etc.

Construction? How about our military lays two parallel barriers: 2,000 miles of triple strand concertina wire, 200 yards apart? [At one man-hour per 10 yards, it would take 1,000 men 44 days to lay the first barrier and another 44 days for the second, parallel barrier. The times are cut in half with 2,000 men working.] Monitor for tunneling, collapse the tunnels, and arrest the tunnelers. Make sure no one messes with the wire, and don't give illegals a free ride for being on our territory until they manage to cross both wire barriers on their own. When they do get across, put them in tent cities supervised by MPs and Shore Patrol until their deportation hearings.

They are trying to overwhelm us; let's make sure the challenge and the negligible chance of release into our communities overwhelms the globalists. Make sure no one wants to be one of the parasites giving up months of their lives in an effort to overwhelm us.

The next stage should be a warning that if they approach the border, they will be met and arrested. They will then be Mexico’s responsibility. We should then warn Mexico that the border will be closed, preventing their citizens from crossing daily until the immigrants are dealt with. Many Mexicans drive to the US to work every day in these border towns. They drive back to Mexico when work is over. Many of their jobs would be lost if they couldn’t get to work and that money going back to Mexico wouldn’t flow. There are many ways to “persuade” Mexico to do something. These “smaller” groups should be easier to keep an eye on and follow.

I’d first hit them with tear gas while they were still on the Mex side of the border. Then, shoot those who didn’t get the message and curtail their advance.
Maybe we will get lucky and Jerry Brown will have gone to join them and their march.

"The next stage should be a warning that if they approach the border, they will be met and arrested...."

.... They should be met with arrest and Immediate deportation. If these people were seeking asylum they should do so by entering at an official Government sanctioned border crossing and submit themselves there.

Completely militarize the border with Mexico. Tanks, helicopters, planes and 50,000 soldiers. Anyone who approaches the border outside a customs station will be shot on sight. No exceptions. You attempt to enter illegally you die.

Exactly. We should warn Mexico that they will be ordered to march (by escort if necessary) back across the border with orders to go to the Mexican official station on the Mexican side and the border will then be closed for ALL (including daily Mexican travel) until MEXICO finds a solution.
