I grew up in a Christian home, where a photo of Jesus hung on my bedroom wall. I still have it. It is schmaltzy and rather tacky in that 1970s kind of way, but as a little girl I loved it. In this picture, Jesus looks kind and gentle, he gazes down at me lovingly. He is also light-haired, blue-eyed, and very white. The problem is, Jesus was not white.

Uh, not really. The computerized analysis puts the height of the man whos image is on the Shroud at between 59" and 510" tall. . . Somewhat taller than the 58¼" average height in a census of fully mature male skeletons excavated in a first century Jewish Cemetary in Jerusalem. The average 21st Century man in the USA is 58⅜", only one-eighth inch taller than the average men in first century Jerusalem. By contrast, censuses taken of the men of Roman soldiers at that time and in that area showed their average height to be only 55⅝" tall.
On a bell curve of height distribution, the man on the Shrouds height is just one standard deviation (sigma) below to just slightly above one sigma above average height for the adult male population. It is certainly not six feet.
Jewishness is a religion, faith, culture, ethnicity, inheritance. . . One thing it certainly is not is a RACE. People of every race have either adopted or married into the Jewish faith.
People of every race can celebrate Passover if they are of the Jewish or even the Christian faith.
Pentecostal.
Those who hear understand, no matter their language.
Those who see, see One in whose image they are made.
“Each culture has depicted Jesus in their own image.”
About this time in the Spring of ‘67 I happened to be motoring through Phu Bai RVN in the back of a 6x6 with perhaps a dozen friends. Slowing down for one reason or tuther what did we see adjacent an old French guard post but a statue of an Asian-featured Christ. No cone hat but the “eyes don’t lie!”
LOLs!
Aw, man, my keyboard and monitor!!!
Here are two portraits by computer imagist Ray Downing based on data from the Shroud of Turin:
This is a painting by Akiane Kramarik, an American visionary who painted this image at the age of 8, based on dreams and visions she had since the age of 4. The child Colton Burpo who was the subject of the book Heaven is for Real, who claimed to have had a near-death encounter with Jesus, attested that Akiane's image also resembles what he saw:
That last one is Kenny Loggins.
Yet only 0% of humans are like Jesus.
.
This is total tripe!
He was a descendant of David, a fair skinned Redhead.
Original Hebrews were all fair skinned. The dark skinned people are those that came with them out of Egypt.
Fake news rules.

“Jews” are followers of Phariseeism.
Yeshua completely denounced the Pharisees, and was not one of them.

The shroud definitely suggests that his eyes had very little color.

No, Jesus came in fulfillment of the Jewish faith, and proved the visions of the Hebrew prophets. Christ is the Messiah promised to the Jews; His ministry also spread during Bible times to "the gentiles" (non-Jews ethnically) and continues to this day to all human beings of both sexes and all racial and ethnic groups.
Modern rabbinical Judaism descends from the Pharisees, who subscribed to the “Oral Torah”, later written down as the Talmud. Jesus rejected the Oral Torah of the Pharisees, which is why they were angry with him. So, by that standard, modern Jews would not accept him as having been a Jew.
Good one, thanks, saved them.
You are correct. Hope everyone reads your post.
There was one where Jesus was portrayed wearing a football jersey I thought was cool, I also have a small Buddy Christ statue from the movie Dogma.
This interpretation is inaccurate. Jesus was misunderstood as a political leader by the Jewish religio-political leaders of the time (the Sanhedrin, who were nevertheless under the rule of Rome), and therefore Jesus was regarded as a threat. But the Sanhedrin elite did not speak for the thousands of Jewish people who thronged to Him to hear Jesus teach and to receive miraculous healings. All his initial followers were Jews. He revolutionized Jewish belief, attempting to deepen the people's understandings to the heart-felt truth of the Spirit of God instead of expecting salvation from performing rituals.
Jesus experienced the same expulsion as Luther did from Catholicism and Wesley did from Anglicanism when they proposed reforms to return the people to a truer version of the faith, but which did not make them any less Christians. Jesus was, and remained, a Jew in His earthly incarnation. But as the Son of God, he sought to connect each person more profoundly to the will of the Father for their individual lives.
Being Jewish can mean being born to the distinct racial subgroup of Jews, or it can mean observing the Jewish religion, or it can mean both. Jesus was born to the distinct race of Jews. He followed the Jewish scriptures and rituals, but as the Son of God, brought clarification to them. He fulfilled the Will of God for a Messiah to come to the Chosen People, the Jews, and bring belief to a new level of understanding, as in my previous post.
While the word "Jew" can refer either to a racial subgroup or to a religion, the word "Christian" refers either to an individual or to a community upholding the teachings of Jesus as true, and understanding Him to be the Messiah promised to the people of his original Jewish ethnicity. But a person cannot be ethnically or racially a Christian. Jesus taught, "You must be born again"of the Spiritin order for an individual to be a true Christian.
