Colleges keep designating spaces as off-limits to men, only to backtrack when someone files a formal complaint or their curious interpretation of inclusivity falls under the harsh glare of the less-woke public.
The latest is the Claremont Consortiums Pitzer College, which apparently didnt learn from Stanfords short-lived no-men weight lifting hours.
The Residence Life office at Pitzer organized a women and non-binary peoples gym day at the Gold Student Center Friday, banning men during the high-traffic hours of 2 to 5 p.m.
The intent was to make people of other genders feel safe to explore the gym, learn about the equipment, or just workout in a man-free space according to the event listing. It doesnt mention transgender students, presumably including men who identify as women under the banner of women.
The Claremont Independent reports that the organizers havent explained why women and non-binary individuals have difficulty exercising with men, if there have been any incidents in the gym where men have made other genders feel uncomfortable, and where Pitzer males will work out during that closure.
The paper said male students at Pitzer had to use a gym on its sibling Pomona campus, a 20-minute walk, if they wanted to work out between 2 and 5 on Friday:
There has been no indication whether the school or resident advisors plan to continue allotting hours for women and gender non-binary peoples.
Public spaces that exclude men (however defined) are legally problematic, as University of Michigan-Flint economist Mark Perry has written.

Yeah but we still control most everything ;)
we’ll win the war.
Everyone would have ten children, like me, and it would be a whole different demographic ballgame out there.

You are my hero Momma!
$276,000.00 for a degree - congratulations, parents - youre chimps. Oops, chumps
WTF is non-binary?
Thank you. I just enjoy good health ...
Where is sleepy Sessions in all of this?
No wonder so many men simply withdraw, refuse to marry/breed, and live life responsible for nobody but themselves until they die...
Why would freedom of association not apply at a state institution? Did you mean a private institution? If you did, the fed uses student loans to force Title IX rules to apply at private schools.
Back in the day when gyms, dorms, scouts, camps, and a lot of other things were separated we did just fine pairing up and reproducing.
As the demographic death spiral continues, it is amazing to watch how areas decline when white families are gone. To watch family businesses, Boy Scout troops, historic churches, private schools, etc. fold up and close, without any mourning at all since those who created them - and their descendants - are long gone, is eerie. Attempts to generate any “historical tourism” fall flat because the people who made the history are gone, and they’ve been replaced with dangerous primitives that make visiting unwise. To see Newark and Paterson here in NJ attempt to draw people to see where some thing or other was made 100 years ago is a sad, desperate attempt to bring back whites - but they know better.
Equal protection and due process would trump right to associate if you want to maintain the courts’ premise in the last 70 or so years.
And man who identify as eskimo japanese giant midget gender nonconforming pan sexual genderbender, are they still welcome?
I'm trying to understand this but drawing a blank. So they are banning men, so that women and who else, exactly, can go to the gym? Either people have the Y chromosome, or they don't. Talking about "other genders" is like talking about the range of outcomes of coin tosses excluding heads and tails. They simply do not exist.
Whatever, I hope the guys have filed a lawsuit. Colleges are supposed to be educational institutions, not cesspools dedicated to the destruction of civilization. I wonder if the college even asked if women generally feel unsafe around men.
I don’t see many women working infrastructure jobs. But they like their electricity, paved roads, houses, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, bridges... etc... yet the undeserved bashing and disenfranchising continues. Pathetic idiocy.
Your tag line does not compute with your post!
Inferiority breeds regulation.
It’s true, though. Most of us in the United States have lives of unimaginable ease and luxury, by all historic and geographic standards.
Discrimination and breach of equal protection. Men that identify as men are treated differently from men that identify as women. Plus these feminists should explain how one biological male is a threat but another biological male is not.
