President Trump said Friday that construction of his promised border wall would start "immediately" after signing the omnibus spending bill, which included $1.6 billion in funding for the wall.
"We're going to be starting work literally on Monday," Trump said during an event Friday at the White House. "We have a lot of money coming to the border."
Trump had threatened earlier Friday to veto the spending bill Congress passed on Thursday because it did not include sufficient funding for the wall and because it omitted expiring protections for young, undocumented immigrants.
They don’t have the money yet and POTUS didn’t write the bill. The congress had the votes to over rule a veto, so he would have squandered political capital to no avail.
I think there may be a slip of the cup on the way to PP. They are being investigated and may be cut off. Why the venom? Something to sell?
We need those border cams that Gov Perry had set up, that folks gave him such a hard time for.
What a sight this will be! And, to be able to send the LIVE cam link, to libs and FR naysayers, would be delicious icing on the flan :-)
I was one who was worried, but I kept my comments to myself.
Seems like social media has created a lot of “post it now, think about it later” people.
I try to not be one of those.
Thank you, MOD!!
where do I find those letters?
Please tell me what is fake about 500 million going to planned parenthhood?
BRass ones. Now we know where the BOOM BOOM is coming from!
If the OP news is true, crows will become extinct fast! Ann has made some wrong decisions in the past such as pushing Mitt Romney, but her heart is in right place, so I cut her some slack here.
Then read the letters Trump sent Ryan and McConnell twenty minutes after he signed the bill (they were both in on it)
Woah, woah, woah...
Are you saying Ryan and McConnell were “in on it” with Trump to divert money earmarked for the military in order to get the wall built? Given that both of them pretty much define the term “spineless weasel,” I find that difficult to believe.
There needs to be a lightning storm on FR, frankly.
It took way to long for the Viking Kitties to strike...

He didn’t sell out, he lost a lot of leverage because judges are making up laws. I suspect that he learned a lesson this go round and he’ll plan for a long shutdown before he signs another crap sandwich. Unlike the others I trust Trump. Doesn’t mean he’s never wrong but he isn’t throwing the people under the bus. I have no doubt that he actually wants to fully implemented his agenda eventhough the Repukes don’t
And rob the military of its much needed upgrades? Wonder how that’s going to go over? While I support the wall wholeheartedly, I understand such a wall will not stop an ICBM from hitting the heartland or other such military aggression.
You just know the ninth circus judges are in a tizzy madly writing an injunction to stop him.
Pretty much.
That would be Pelousy.
I think I’ll stand outside on top of my hill Monday and listen for the sweet sound of the wailing and teethknashing and rendering of clothing, brought south on the wind from LA
Empty barrels make the most noise.
President Donald Trump has proposed a fiscal year 2019 budget in which taxpayer dollars would be directed away from the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
Since becoming president, President Trump has taken multiple actions to defund the nations biggest abortion company. On his third day in office he reinstated a pro-life policy that revoked tens of millions of dollars from International Planned Parenthood. President Trump has also signed legislation that would help states defund the Planned Parenthood abortion company as well.
Now, President Trump has put forward a budget proposal that would prohibit certain abortion companies like Planned Parenthood from receiving federal funds. That proposal applies to the Title X Family Planning program and Medicaid, as well as other HHS programs.
From page 56 of his budget proposal, comes the following language:
Prohibits Certain Abortion Providers from Receiving Federal Funds.
The Budget includes provisions prohibiting certain abortion providers from receiving Federal funds from HHS, including those that receive funding under the Title X Family Planning program and Medicaid, among other HHS programs.
Weather the budget would be approved by Congress is another story. While pro-life Republicans have repeatedly voted to defund Planned Parenthood they have been thwarted in the Senate by pro-abortion democrats and a handful of proportion Republicans who have been able to stop pro-life Republican leaders from ending debate on a defunding measure and sending it to president Donald Trumps desk to sign. Trump has promised to sign the legislation if Congress can get enough votes to send it to him.
Leading pro-life organizations are hopeful that the 2018 election cycle will yield a couple of more pro-life votes in favor of defunding Planned Parenthood.
Here is an overview of President Trumps pro-life record since being elected president.
Within a week of taking office, President Trump reinstated and expanded the Mexico City Policy, which protects $9 billion in foreign aid from being used to fund the global abortion industry and its advocates.
President Trump cut off taxpayer funding for the U.N. Population Fund.
President Trump signed H.J. Res. 43 into law, overturning a midnight regulation by the Obama Administration, which prohibited States from defunding certain abortion facilities in their Federally funded family planning programs.
President Trump expressed strong support for the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would have stopped late-term abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancythe point at which science tells us that an unborn child can experience pain.
President Trumps Administration issued guidance to enforce the requirement that taxpayer dollars not support abortion coverage in Obamacare exchange plans.
President Trump rescinded an Obama-era policy that hindered States in their efforts to direct Medicaid funding away from abortion facilities that violate the law or fail to meet relevant standards of care.
In January 2018, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced three major policy changes to protect freedom of religion and the rights of pro-life doctors and nurses, including:
forming a new Conscience and Religious Freedom Division, providing HHS with the focus it needs to more vigorously and effectively enforce existing laws protecting the rights of conscience and religious freedom; and proposing to more vigorously enforce 25 existing statutory conscience protections for Americans involved in HHS programs, protecting Americans who have religious or moral convictions related to certain health care services.
