Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump said Friday afternoon that he had signed the sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and averted a government shutdown. In a morning tweet, Trump said he might veto the omnibus bill because it does nothing to address the fate of young undocumented immigrants known as dreamers and does not fully fund his border wall. But speaking to reporters at the White House about four hours later, Trump said he had decided to sign the bill despite his reservations, arguing that it provides much-needed funding for the military, including a pay increase for troops and new equipment.Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump said Friday afternoon that he had signed the sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and averted a government shutdown.

Kamala Harris cannot run...People need to realize that. Use any other lefty, but please don’t feed the false narrative that she can be a viable candidate.
Trump had a choice, HE CHOSE TO DROP THE BALL
He could have VETOed & sent it back for a dramatic revision....MASSIVE FAIL
Triggered newbie!!
......”we have, a bunch of children throwing themselves on the floor having temper tantrums”......
Isn’t that the truth!.....They sound like they want a dictator rather than a President, that’s not how it works in the USA.
....”The swamp is consuming our Constitution and Republic. With the help of Trump”....
You’ve forgotten the hole we’ve been dug out of......your in need of a refresh of the past year..fast!
Why the hell is defense spending so bloody important?
—
Particularly when the country it’s defending has been funded to be a liberal hellhole that isn’t worth defending.
And if Congress passed it again as is with a veto-proof majority, Trump would have looked much worse and powerless.
Trump considered all his options.
But don’t give up on him. There are many other battles still lie ahead.
Does that make him impotent or incompetent. Lol.. the sitting pres has no choice but sign Chuck n Nancy deals month after month... Who believes that?
But, he needs more conservatives in Congress to get the rest of his agenda passed.....
Agreed,.......and President Trump JUST RUINED THE CHANCES OF THAT HAPPENING......, his supporters 2016 are going remember the discouragement & disappointment in Nov. 2018 ........MASSIVE FAIL at negotiation....
MASSIVE FAIL at negotiation....
—
WHAT negotiation? As far as I can tell, the scumbag Congress said: “sign this” and Trump said “sure.”
“NOW IM STAYING HOME IN 2018. “
After all that President Trump has done for you, you ****ing brat bastard. He needs more help in the Senate and the House and all you can do is cry. He has 2/3rds of what he promised, all in a year. God only knows how much money he made you in the market as well. This place is getting like a pre school with a bunch of spoiled little babies.
Instead of kicking and screaming, how about getting out there and help get the right people elected. You are every bit as bad as the RINO’s in DC. You’re a f***ing quitter. You don’t deserve the right to criticize President Trump.
Why was this not foreseen?
Who has dropped the ball?
I love the President but this is in large part his
failing.
The worst day of his presidency, and one I think
he is going to come to sorely regret.
This for me is the lowest political day since his victory.
Wounds will heal but if he lets this happen again
hes absolutely finished.
He was elected to make a stand not to buckle
to these despicable pieces of dog crap.
Good point!
“Trump should have had our back. He didnt. He even tweeted this morning that he might VETO the bill, just to make SURE his base was good and pissed off when he didnt. His behavior today makes absolutely no sense - and you wonder why people are disgusted with it.”
Well said.
Trump blew it today. Of all the choices he had to react to this bill, he decided on the path of least resistance, to go along to get along. That’s a surrender no matter how much people try to say it’s not.
HUGE MISTAKE.
B-U-L-L-C-R-A-P. Trump just betrayed America, period. He is a liar and a fraud.
NO, one frraking man could have VETOED this bullsh!t and tell Congress to come back. But that freaking man did not, b/c he is either a coward, fraud or part of the swamp. OR, all of the above.
There is no negotiating with a bunch of Dems and RINOs. The reality is that POTUS is not a dictator. He tried negotiating (no Wall, no DACA) and ultimately had to play the hand he was dealt. This sucks, but it’s the best he could do. He’s choosing his battles and biding his time. In a way he’s a better negotiator than Reagan, in that Reagan allowed amnesty and trusted the Dems. Trump is doing no such thing. He is simply doing the expedient thing for the next 5 months. I repeat, this sucks, but the silver lining is that the military gets increase funding big time, and I get the feeling things will be getting hairy during this year. I trust Trump.
“Are we going to war? This is the only reason I see for not vetoing the bill and waiting another week or two until they presented a better bill.”
You avoid war by showing preparedness and strength, re: Ronald Reagan.
How do you think the government would be funded with Congress away on a two-week recess? Many had already left.
