Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump said Friday afternoon that he had signed the sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and averted a government shutdown. In a morning tweet, Trump said he might veto the omnibus bill because it does nothing to address the fate of young undocumented immigrants known as dreamers and does not fully fund his border wall. But speaking to reporters at the White House about four hours later, Trump said he had decided to sign the bill despite his reservations, arguing that it provides much-needed funding for the military, including a pay increase for troops and new equipment.Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump said Friday afternoon that he had signed the sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and averted a government shutdown.

We don’t need anymore stinking wars.
In perspective I don’t like the direction Trump seems to be going. But I will hold off on going all Pollyana on him.
The military seems to be funded quite well. Won’t happen again? Famous last words.
This abomination of a budget bill expires before the mid-term elections. I will wait and see how the next budget is. The Repubicans may be more inclined to deliver on their (and Trump’s) promises right before they have to face the voters.
One of his goals was the wall, he caved. One of his goals was to make America great again, not unbelievably broke forever and ever. Disgusting.
I will throw out one huge positive here. We did not get Hillary!
The “wall”, or rather fence, between Jordan and Syria has already been built in Jordan. My son was one of the ones who designed and oversaw it’s construction. They had their final inspection a few weeks ago.
he could have won. Just veto the thing.
Why the hell is defense spending so bloody important?
That explanation seems like pure BS from Trump. Since when did the military come into this budget debate?
Oh wow, look :) more of that 4D chess everyone always talks about.
Get over yourself and for love of God cease the all caps!
Are we going to war? This is the only reason I see for not vetoing the bill and waiting another week or two until they presented a better bill.
