Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump said Friday afternoon that he had signed the sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and averted a government shutdown. In a morning tweet, Trump said he might veto the omnibus bill because it does nothing to address the fate of young undocumented immigrants known as dreamers and does not fully fund his border wall. But speaking to reporters at the White House about four hours later, Trump said he had decided to sign the bill despite his reservations, arguing that it provides much-needed funding for the military, including a pay increase for troops and new equipment.Just hours after threatening a veto, President Trump said Friday afternoon that he had signed the sweeping $1.3 trillion spending bill passed by Congress early Friday and averted a government shutdown.

He didn’t?
The Dow just went up 150 pts.
No, he put the military plan ahead of the Omnibus goodies added. He said this won’t happen again. I believe him.
Congress was going to override his veto, even if he vetoed it. He had no choice.
So disappointing.
Trump just joined the swamp
Why vote for Republicans..?
I don’t get it.
I guess Trump is tired of being President, he might as well let Kamala Harris start measuring the windows in the Oval Office ....
Crony Corporatism Forever! Anything the mercantilists can do to kill the free market. And let's not forget this pork laden gift to NGOs.
I left the R’s during W’s term when they spent just like D’s.
But to be fair to them, they are not the problem. The citizens that elect them are the problem. In a democracy, you not only get the government you want. You get the government you deserve.
One man can only do so much.
and right back down again ... that quick ...
And so it begins again....
Ryan and Turtle have just lost the House, Senate and Presidency.
The are not supposed to hold the majority, this was a fluke.
D.C. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Democrat Party.
Barf.
Trump fought the swamp and the swamp won.
I’m not convinced they have the votes to override a veto and even if they did, let Congress own this pile of hot trash.
Now Trump owns it.
The Republic establishment and its donors are blocking funding for the wall for obvious reasons (cheap labor) and a handful of liberal Senators are blocking the defunding of PP. Trump is using DACA to try to get funding for the wall and worked hard to get an Obamacare repeal passed that included the de-funding of PP. It's absurd to say he hasn't tried or doesn't want to accomplish those objectives.
Anyone should, on balance, be thrilled with what Trump has accomplished in 14 months. It easily surpasses what Reagan accomplished in his first 14 months, But, he needs more conservatives in Congress to get the rest of his agenda passed.
Note to Trump:
The frog-marching of some of the corrupt people from the Obama/Clinton camps has to take place before November, or I will stay home.
Give me a reason to support the GOP. Right now I have none.
Trump has: Cut corporate tax cuts almost in half, cut in billions in regulations, enacted tariffs to protect US jobs, nominated the most conservative justices of any President in history, destroyed ISIS, revoked funding for PP internationally and allowed states to de-fund PP. and, now, managed to provided funding to rebuild our military, which was gutted under Obama. Border security and enforcement infinitely better than it was under Obama.
