am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact that the 800,000 plus DACA recipients have been totally abandoned by the Democrats (not even mentioned in Bill) and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded.
Go take a long walk off a short dock.
I don’t consider and I have never considered Trump to be a conservative.
In my eyes, he is an American.
And yet you claimed Cruz is a supreme liar by standing for an office for which he is ineligible.
ALL lines are busy, and have been so all morning. They must be getting “swamped.”
VETO! Throw this porkzilla POS bill back in congress’s face.
It’s a bad deal all for America all around.
Let the socialist-democrats and their republican toadies either change it, or override The President’s veto. They can throw all the stompy foot temper tantrums they want. This shit needs to end, now.,
Either way, they own that pile of crap. Oh, and threats of “shutting down” the government are less than useless leverage. Let the republicrats shut it down. Things may actually get done then.
President Trump is smart enough to know when to just walk away from a bad deal.
Message sent - but phone lines are jammed.
Just made my contact to POTUS to veto the bill.
Just heard on the radio news that Trump plans to sign the bill. I think major garrett was the confirmation of the news?
Oh, no.
I have long argued this issue of "natural born citizen", and I am aware that there are people who honestly have different opinions on the matter. The fact that those people are incorrect, but actually believe they are right, does not make them into liars.
I know one man who is a prominent Naval officer still in the Navy who was born in Italy to an American mother and an Italian Father and he believes himself to be a "natural born citizen." I have made many of my arguments to him in an attempt to dissuade him from this view, but he still believes himself to be a "natural born citizen."
I would not dare call him a "liar" for being mistaken on this point.
You cannot honestly assert that people of differing opinions are "liars" because they don't agree with you.
I wish I could refind for you the clip showing a Cruz campaign representative TV interview where the campaign representative went out of her way to talk about Melania’s checked past and racy photos that were not suitable for a first lady.
The interview was several weeks before the nude photo mailer and was in a sense the introduction to that line of attack and was the first attack on a candidate’s wife. I did post it on FR during the campaign but last time I tried it was just too many posts to search and the internet search with key words pulls up too much material. That was the interview that convinced me that the campaign was aware the mailer was going out.
I agree with you that it is water under the bridge. Ted Cruz may yet contribute to MAGA, and that is really what matters.
Well if he was a member of the actual campaign, that starts to make the case against Cruz, but it needs to be noted if Cruz reprimanded or removed this person from his campaign, or kept allowing him to do such a thing.
I didn't see this example to which you are referring, so I cannot much speak to this point.
I agree with you that it is water under the bridge. Ted Cruz may yet contribute to MAGA, and that is really what matters.
I think this is correct. My recollection was that Trump was quite nice to Cruz for most of the campaign, and only started attacking Cruz when he was the last man, or nearly the last man still standing against him.
I interpreted Trump's actions through most of the campaign as evidence that Trump had some degree of respect for Cruz, and that he reluctantly went into attack mode against Cruz when it became apparent that Cruz was an actual threat to winning the nomination.
But it ought to be water under the bridge as you say. I don't see any good that can be accomplished by bringing up primary fights.
Here is the portion of the 1st debate that Cruz later used to base his claim that Trump supported single payer...

To draw from Trump’s comments that he supports a single-payer system in the US
one would have to be more than a little unintelligent and I don’t think that describes Cruz.
The alternative of using a sleazy political tactic to smear Trump, though unexpected, appears to be of much greater likelihood,
and gives more than a little indication of a lack of integrity.
Here is the video of the exchange between Trump and Cruz (10th debate, Huston)

Look this is more or less a dead horse.
You seemed genuinely curious and asked for an example of a lie that Ted Cruz told.
I gave you one. One that, when it happened, hit me like a sledgehammer.
I think I’m looking at this in an impartial way and providing evidence for,
what to me is clearly, the only realistic and apparent conclusion.
But as I’m wont to say,
Disagree without being Disagreeable
Have a Nice Friday Evening
Looks like I was wrong in #166. Now we are looking at what HE has done. He is now a one-term President.
I will still support him when he does good for the Republic, of course. I am not anti-Trump, but I am pro-Republic.
There’s not a thing Trump does that he does for no reason.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
“...go to Speaker Ryans district in Wisconsin most of the Republicans there think hes awesome and have voted overwhelmingly for him over the years.”
Same accursed breed of eGOP that have “blessed” us with McCain these past dismal decades.
Not one red cent to anyone that voted for or signed this bill. EVER
Thank you for understanding.. very gracious of you! It’s been a disappointing day.. ugh. Have a good weekend!
