President Donald Trump will host Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for a working lunch at the White House Tuesday afternoon.
The two leaders are expected to discuss ongoing threats in the Middle East. Specifically, the expansion of Iranian power and destabilization efforts will be a main focus.
The President looks forward to discussing ways to strengthen ties between the United States and Saudi Arabia and to advance our common security and economic priorities, White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said about the meeting.
Bin Salman has been in the United States for a number of days and participated in an extensive 60 Minutes interview over the weekend. During the interview, he called Irans Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei the new Hitler.
The meeting comes nearly a year after President Trump visited Saudi Arabia as the first country on his tour of the Middle East. During the visit, Trump have an expansive speech and called on leaders in the region to reject Islamic terrorism.
If we do not act against this organized terror, then we know what will happen. Terrorisms devastation of life will continue to spread. Peaceful societies will become engulfed by violence. And the futures of many generations will be sadly squandered, Trump said. If we do not stand in uniform condemnation of this killingthen not only will we be judged by our people, not only will we be judged by history, but we will be judged by God.
This is not a battle between different faiths, different sects, or different civilizations, he continued. This is a battle between barbaric criminals who seek to obliterate human life, and decent people of all religions who seek to protect it.
The United States also entered into a $110 billion military purchase deal from the Saudis during Trumps visit.
Make America and the world great again! Thank God for Trump and all the people responsible for getting him in office.
Some reporter should ask about the Vegas shooting and the coup.
Russia!
Amen!
Better the prince than Russia’s ally Iran.
In light of recent headlines out of Riyadh (800,000 caught, 200,000 deported), maybe Trump can glean some strategies for dealing with illegal immigrants.
Yes, very good.
Introduce extraneous worthless and biased information into the thread. Truth doesn’t matter when protecting the dogma
Prince Abdul Mohammed Ramadan??? LOL!
Looks like the dude is wearing a tablecloth from an Italian restaurant with a halo on top...
Just sayin’
Having said that, hopefully this young Saudi leader will be different than the old guard and will become a better ally against terrorism for the USA!
Thanks Kaslin.
Yeah, some Congressman got in trouble to saying the "Palestinians" looked like they had a dish towel with a fan belt.
You'd think if the guy wanted to have some credibility, he'd at least cop a shave, and don a business suit, for a visit to the White House.
He looks like a fool.
heh heh
It’s even weirder. Different Arab countries and even clans and regions have different colors/patterns for their keffiyeh/shemagh, kinda like different MLB caps, only formal.
So far no info about the subject of the meeting, and since MbS is abroad I guess (?) that the resignation of the King and his replacement is not the subject of the Shura.
