Official Washington flocking to Doomsday Camps
by Paul Bedard | March 19, 2018 08:16 AM
A building network of backwoods doomsday camps around the country are pulling in members from affluent areas and even Washington national security officials as the threats grow from nuclear war, an EMP or virus attack.
Called Fortitude Ranch, the outposts promise protection and a years supply of food for those unable to build their own bunker. Whats more, until a crisis strikes, they are being used for prepper training and vacations.
Were seeing members from all the three letter agencies, said Fortitude creator Drew Miller, a retired Air Force colonel and intelligence officer, in a reference to the Central Intelligence Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
He called an attack or even a weather-related electromagnetic pulse shutdown of the electric grid inevitable, and a driving force in his project.
One of his members from the Baltimore area, speaking on background, said that he and others joined after waking up to the potential of a national crisis from an attack, financial meltdown or political violence. For most of us, something rattled our cages and woke us up, he said.
Through memberships and his own cryptocurrency called Fortitudes, Miller has raised about $400,000 and established a ranch in West Virginia and Colorado with 10 others planned. An open house at the West Virginia ranch is scheduled for April 21-23.
He said that for the West Virginia ranch, most members are professional Washington area folks. They dont have time to do this own their own. The cost is about $1,000 per person per year to join.

Hope they are each experienced hikers....
Did nobody tell them they won’t be able to drive there, in the event of an EMP, or other road clogging event.
oh...and if they’re coming from D.C. they won’t be armed......
Isn’t this rather counterintuitive? The idea is to hunker down where the ravaging hoardes can’t find you. I find it hard to believe that sneaky CIA and FBI people would buy into this.
It sounds like something Dogbert would soak the PHB and the rest of management.
Psst, hey Bud. You might want to rethink your plan.
Yeah, thats an OOPS moment. They should just stick to bottle caps.
Why, they'll just hire a car and driver with Fortitude cryptocurrency, lol.
EMP wont be a road clogging event. Nothing with a computer chip will be running including electricity. Wont be access any bank funds, gas, credit card usage, or gas. In an instance we are back in the 19th century.
“Nothings going to keep the mobs at bay.”
That’s always been my thoughts.
Hitler had his bunker, Saddam had a similar complex I think he never bothered to use. I’m certain other mad mend did likewise.
They will be found and dealt with. The more extravagant the easier they are to find and ID.
Yeah, it is counterintuitive, but when operating under emotion or stress, you don't always think first
your first inclination is to react emotionally.
Remember the "OODA" loop ? It's easier to think when not in crisis.
I am sure that the CampMaster, Mt miller, will have some defensive positions and obstacles set up
so that it will appear, ostensibly, to be well fortified and defensively secure.
Will the obstacles be practical,.. not so much; and certainly not practical at $1,000 per year annual membership.
Does this guy charge $1000 for each kid? Pets?
He has struck the "Mother Lode." Especially if he demands payment in ammunition or weaponry. I'm just scratching the surface, and there are many freepers much more knowledgeable about this than I am. But somebody saw these elites coming.
or watching Trending videos on YT.
It is 1791
It would be a hoot to see them crawl out of their bunkers and not find anyone to boss around.
Maybe some of us actual preppers learn from this. Advertise that for a mere $10,000 annual fee we would design and build a hidey hole for them. Of course it will be so hidden they would not be able to find it even if they arrived at the area.
Probably a store of freeze-dried caviar in those bunkers, eh?
Land is cheap in Southside Virginia and much of West Virginia. From what I saw on their website, it’s a fairly decent central “lodge” but the “bunkers” are just large galvanized culverts, buried with a combo access hatch and ventilation shaft, with the “accommodations” within being built out of OSB. If an actual TEOTWAWKI sort of event were to actually occur, and any significant number of these people were to actually make it out there, I wouldn’t put it past the owners of the thing to kill them and keep the food. Why would they trust a complete and total stranger who is in it for the money? If the owners don’t start picking them off, they’ll start picking one another off, we are talking about mostly fedgov lifers here. All they know is bureaucratic gold-plating backed by passive aggressive backstabbing, and they’ll go completely berserk with that stripped away from them, just look at Andrew McCabe for an object lesson.
