Keep it on standard time all year round so that the sun is highest at noon and the full moon rises at 6:00pm.
If he wants to really mess with things, then change the yearly cycle to start on the March equinox, not January first.

I’m for cutting a foot off the top of the blanket and sewing it to the bottom of the blanket, not from the bottom and sewing it to the top ... that would be stupid.
