TALLAHASSEE The Florida House on Wednesday gave final approval to a bill that restricts gun sales and sets up a program to arm some teachers and other school employees. The bill is a response to the Feb. 14 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School that left 17 students and faculty dead. The final vote was 67-50. It came after an all-day debate on the measure. Democrats favored the gun control provisions in the bill a ban on bump stocks, an increase in the minimum age to buy a rifle from 18 to 21 and a three-day waiting period for all gun sales but object to the guardian program that would arm some teachers and other school staff.

Effin bullshiite. My reps heard from me all week. Didn’t seem to do any good.
I hope this makes it to the Supreme Court. Tell a 20 year old who just got back from a year in Afghanistan that they are too young to own a gun is sickening.
Will get blocked or in the Senate who already rejected something like it.
SHOULD be unconstitutional.l
Heck, they didn’t lower the voting age to 18 from 21 until the 26th Amendment in 1971. Before then a guy couldn’t vote but could be drafted.
And if with every shooting we whittle it down further, how long before there are no gun rights at all?
And yet there are those on this board that support this statist shit.
Now it falls to Gov. Scott to stop this nonsense.
Liberals are idiots. You only get one chance to fight your government. Floriduh just lost unless the Governor stops this.
No rights under the constitution then no military service. Do males still have to register for the draft? If I cant own a gun then I cant register.
When did testicles become optional for male members of the FL House?
Has to go to the Senate next who rescinded their own bill.
The Democrats sent in armored vehicles at Waco and burned children to death to make a political point.
No gun control.
Never.
So...details. What language did they use to outlaw bump-stocks?
There may be an exception to the law for 18-20 years olds who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, active or reserve/national guard, to continue to be able to purchase rifles and some other exceptions.
It may have been put in the bill but NOT included in this story. The Florida Governor has said he would support that exception to any new law banning those under 21 from buying a rifle.
PUNISHING YOUNG PEOPLE by denying them firearms until they're long out of high school.
Kinda funny, actually, but this is indeed a SLIPPERY SLOPE to all-out gun confiscation. THAT is the progressives' goal.
Psycho who local law enforcement knew would kill, kills, and legislature restricts the rights of the population in response. Disgraceful.
