I hope this makes it to the Supreme Court. Tell a 20 year old who just got back from a year in Afghanistan that they are too young to own a gun is sickening.
There may be an exception to the law for 18-20 years olds who are currently serving in the Armed Forces, active or reserve/national guard, to continue to be able to purchase rifles and some other exceptions.
It may have been put in the bill but NOT included in this story. The Florida Governor has said he would support that exception to any new law banning those under 21 from buying a rifle.
It is not for who served in Afghanistan quagmire. It is for the OTHER nutso high schoolers who are whack jobs like that 19 year old (?) Cruz character.
But gun control will not stop the mayhem. Only adequate armed guards and armed teachers is IMMEDIATE solution.
We already tell them they're too young to drink a beer.
Or a cop not being old enough. But, hey, as long as Attention Hogg got his way.
Before my mom’s uncle turned 21 he was being shot at by Nazis. Fortunately he took out a couple of them and was honorably discharged.
Tell a 20 year old who just got back from a year in Afghanistan that they are too young to own a gun is sickening.
Exactly! Taking rights away from adults that are treated like adults in almost every other respect should be unconstitutional. I hope somebody sues and it gets to the Supreme Court.
True this. I bought my first rifle at
the age of 12. $40.00 and an order form
from Sears&Roebuck. 18 year olds should
be allowed to purchase a gun. So, now,
when a dad, buys a rifle for his son,
suddenly turns into a straw purchase.
Innocent Americans become instant
criminals.
“I hope this makes it to the Supreme Court.”
It will.
And tell a home-invading robber to please wait 3 days before robbing me so that I can buy my means of self defense.
