Leftists are slamming a new Bruce Willis movie as a racist commercial for the NRA.
Opening this weekend, Death Wish, a remake of the 1974 film of the same name, stars Willis as Paul Kersey, a Chicago doctor who turns vigilante to exact his revenge on a group of men who murdered his wife and brutally attacked his daughter. Heres a synopsis from RottenTomatoes:
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures presents director Eli Roths reimagining of the 1974 revenge thriller Death Wish. Dr. Paul Kersey (Bruce Willis) is a surgeon who only sees the aftermath of his citys violence when it is rushed into his ER until his wife (Elisabeth Shue) and college-age daughter (Camila Morrone) are viciously attacked in their suburban home. With the police overloaded with crimes, Paul, burning for revenge, hunts his familys assailants to deliver justice. As the anonymous slayings of criminals grabs the medias attention, the city wonders if this deadly avenger is a guardian angel or a grim reaper. Fury and fate collide in the intense action-thriller Death Wish. Paul Kersey becomes a divided person: a man who saves lives, and a man who takes them; a husband and father trying to take care of his family, and a shadowy figure fighting crime; a surgeon extracting bullets from suspects bodies, and a man seeking justice that detectives are quickly closing in on.Sounds awesome, right? Leftist critics are hating on this movie, blasting it as NRA-Agitprop and white man wish fulfillment.

If you think about it there are a thousand movies with criminals being blown away, often outside of the law.
It must be awesome!.............................
Sounds perfect
Gee... hadn’t really made any plans to see it, but now I will.
>>Jeez, dont let them see the original Charles Bronson version theyd have to be hospitalized!!!<<
IIRC Bronson was steely-eyed all business revenge-killing-with-businesslike-ruthlessness, which was FANTASTIC!
It looks like Bruce Willis plays this with a lot of sarcastic humor, which is a great spin and looks FANTASTIC.
Mrs FD hates blood and guts and I don’t care for them (we stopped watching CSI and Criminal Minds) so I suspect she won’t want to see this. But I will get it and watch it on the plane after it goes to DVD.
I haven’t been to a movie theater since “Tron Legacy.”
We saw zero blacks in the cast, IIRC. Maybe in minor “extra” roles.
Really?
White predators abound on our streets?
Where do you live where thats an issue?
The Bronson set of “Vendetta” movies were all enjoyable. I have them all.
The reaction of the critics to this movie will ensure it’s success.
In the 50’s the Catholic Church would often “ban” Catholics from reading certain books (Peyton Place)or watching certain movies (To Kill A Mockingbird). They quit doing it when they realized by banning books and movies they made them more successful than they otherwise may have been.
I wish I could take a poll to see how many brain dead snowflakes actually carry or have a firearm, especially those that pasted on CR.
A Charles Bronson remake. Bronson was cool....and, so was his wife! (Jill Ireland)
I digress. This one should be great with Willis.
Interesting take. Fortunately, I think the communists will be so enraged at the existence of this remake to care about how the theatrical embellishments about the availability of full auto weapons and the speed and ease of buying legal guns in Chicago. I’ll probably see it anyway because it seems like a fun time.
I saw it last night it is really good. Very pro 2nd Amendment. Encourage others to watch it too so it has a big box office.
Rotten Tomatoes Critics 15% — Audience Score 85%.
The disparity is real.
I don’t think anyone really cares what “lefist’s” say about things. Too many other voices out there now. So sorry.
“Willis seems like he sleeps walk through it.”
Maybe, in a way. I think that goes with his character’s persona as an E.R. doctor. Calm cool, and collected.
Yep, I was thinking we might need to go see this.
