The grand jury investigating alleged collusion between Russia and Donald Trump's presidential campaign has sent a witness a subpoena seeking all documents involving the president and a host of his closest advisers, according to a copy of the subpoena reviewed by NBC News.
According to the subpoena, which was sent to a witness by special counsel Robert Mueller, investigators want emails, text messages, work papers, telephone logs and other documents going back to Nov. 1, 2015, 4½ months after Trump launched his campaign.

Sorry but Trey is all talk and no action. I want someone who has a reputation of actually doing something more than just publicly scolding someone. But I guess at this point just about any real conservative would be an improvement over Sessions. We need one of our conservative grass root leaders to start a big time movement to replace Sessions NOW! I’m talking marches, TV and Magazine ads paid for by contibutions (that is if any commie media will accept the ads since Sessions has practically become one of theirs). Just so you know I live in Session’s old Senate district and I campaigned, contributed, and voted for him as my senator without fail. I was really proud of him as my senator but now I am ashamed of him. I just wish Trump would fire him along with all the top AG, FBI, CIA, and as many remaining Obama holdovers as possible, and do them all at the same time. Call it “Operation Clean Sweep”, or even better “Operation Taking Out the Trash”.

The president may be surprised to learn that the Justice Department’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee in August 2015 that the Obama administration was stonewalling his investigations...
Then in 2014, Horowitz said, the Obama administration’s Office of Legal Counsel issued an opinion stating that the Inspector General Act of 1978 does not entitle the IG to access grand jury, wiretap or credit information.
“The legal underpinning of the OLC opinion represents a serious threat to not only my independence, but to that of all inspectors general” Horowitz told the lawmakers. “For the first time since the I.G. Act was passed in 1978, the word ‘all’ in Section 6(a) of the I.G. Act no longer means all.”
For the last year, Inspector General Horowitz has been investigating possible “improper considerations” in the FBI and Justice Department’s handling of the Clinton email investigation, and now he’ll look into the possible abuse of FISA to spy on the Trump campaign.
President Trump should check on the status of that 2014 Office of Legal Counsel opinion.
If it’s still in force, he has a pen and a phone.

That route - the Vacancies Reform Act route you refer to - would trigger a legal challenge as the language of the VRA does not say that a President can replace a FIRED confirmable officeholder, merely one who “dies, resigns, or is otherwise unable to perform the functions and duties of the office.”
There are arguments both ways, but it’s not hard to imagine an uber-liberal appeals court like the DC Circuit staying the appointment of a DOJ through the VRA method, which would presumably leave Rosenstein in charge.

That’s not how “fruit of the poisonous tree” works. Only Carter Page could reasonably claim this defence as it applies specifically to 4th Amendment rights, which are non-transferrable.
EG: If an unreliable informant gives the FBI information that you’re a drug dealer, the FBI gets a warrant, finds drugs in your house and arrests you, the drugs in your house could not be used against YOU in a court of law.
However, if you give the FBI information about your supplier, or if there are clues - say a letter with a return address on it - which are seized which lead to the arrest of your supplier this person would NOT be able to claim the fruit of the poisoned tree defence.

Someone should convince Sessions to step down now to prepare to run for his old Senate seat. Not that he could win but don’t tell him that. I am under the impression that he thinks he is as well respected in Alabama as he use to be. The truth is I doubt if he could even win the primary. I am from his old district and as a once proud supporter of Senator Sessions I must say I no longer have any respect for him and I personally would not even vote for him to be the local dog catcher.
Mueller is the “ insurance policy” in case Hilary lost the election.
