President Trump on Wednesday voiced support for confiscating guns from certain individuals deemed to be dangerous, even if it violates due process rights.
I like taking the guns early, like in this crazy mans case that just took place in Florida ... to go to court would have taken a long time, Trump said at a meeting with lawmakers on school safety and gun violence.
Take the guns first, go through due process second, Trump said.

President Trump is wrong, very wrong, about this. This is an emotion based decision and, like most emotion based decisions at the presidential level, it violates the constitution.

Not a thing, it is how Trump stated it that is the problem.
Let a family member store them or a trusted neighbor.
Bringing bullets might well be a crime, were it a firearm, even without bullets, it would have been. Both state and federal, a federal felony.
The biggest issue was his state of mind. Like it or not police, school officials, and the medical community have the right to request a mental health hearing. Were this a sexual threat to someone underage instead of a death threat, they would have been required to report it under law. At that point the system progresses. He's held, voluntarily or involuntarily (that's committed) for 2 or 3 days to determine if he's a danger to self or others. If the answer is no, it's over. If it's yes, he loses his gun rights. Ultimately the shrinks do make the decision, but only if the judge follows it. IMO, the problem with that is that it's a potentially lifetime ban with no recourse. But the process is lawful and provides due process. As well as loss of the firearm, maybe temporarily, and confinement up front. I argee teachers should be allowed to carry, but that's a state and district issue.
While consistent on most big issues, there is a basis and precedent for Trump to reconsider his stances on some heated topics.

“I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I also support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun,” he wrote.
He is also told Larry King in a 1999 interview that he doesn’t agree with the NRA on everything...

How is “crazy” defined?
What illnesses are included?
Who does the diagnosis?
Who has access to the medical records that HIPPA is supposed to protect?
Maybe the folks who believe he was a danger should’ve found a way to take them once they saw the cops didn’t.

There are no reasonable gun laws. If someone is to evil to own a gun then he is to evil to be among civilized citizens.
The 2nd did not grant us the right to bear arms it nearly recognized that we have a God given right to keep an bear arms and the government has no say about it. It prohibits the government from making any law that infringes on that right.

No, he won’t look foolish.
He is being attacked constantly. he needs to at least appear to be trying. And it’s not his fault if Congress won’t pass some measures.
The Dems, with the help of the MSM are trying to push Trump into a corner — and you appear to be falling for it.

I’m guessing that our idiot Governor (Jay Inslee, WA) gave him that idea. I heard a radio clip of Inslee speaking to Trump about Washington’s new law (some fancy double-speak name like First Aware Prevention Plan or something (I’m not even close - but it is that type of thing to sell it).
If anyone has any reason what-so-ever to think that someone (it might have to be a relative, or something - but it wouldn’t surprise me if you could accuse your neighbor too) is a threat to themselves or others, the cops can take away all your guns with no courts on a “temporary” basis.
Sorry - but even on a “temporary” basis that goes against our rights. The radio guy was saying how Inslee was telling the president how well the law has helped in Washington state to keep people safe, reduce suicides, etc.
It has never even been used yet! And the radio guy was saying - “And the first time it IS used, imagine the lawyer’s jumping in to defend the person’s due process!”
